looks amazing, I look forward to pics with the wheels. I plan some muscle car MOC as well, and would like to see how the tires look with your mudguard curves.

Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to seeing it too, hope it looks ok.

Did a quick test, not perfectly center tho.

My front suspension idea was to use the new parts to create camber and caster to somewhat realistic form. Also to have a nice big area for that PHAT 351 Cleveland to sit in.

Forgot this one. This is my leaf spring solution, not sure how it will fair, fingers crossed its ok.

This is such a good looking car!

Thank you very much!

What are your thoughts on the colour of the chassis guys? Black or LBG?

Looking good. Is the front wheel base just a bit too narrow for the body? Or are you going to use different wheels?

Maybe it's just the camera angle that makes it appear narrow.

Its not quite center in the crappy pic i took, so the gap looks a bit bigger than it should be, LOL. but I'm thinking adding half a bush to each wheel. Depends on steering, haha.

The real thing has wider front wheels than rear.

it's coming out great!

the only thing is that i'd make the axle wider...seems like the wheels are too inside :P

... needs 1+ studes per side...

perfect orange-black body... I'm looking for your next steps :)

Thanks for the great feedback guys.

Bit of a problem ATM, seems I don't have enough room to gear up after the gearbox, before the diff. :cry_sad: Need like another 4 studs.

looking great! Any chance of instructioons?

I'm hoping so!

This is coming along nicely...

Are you using a servo motor and one of those Hockey springs together..?

Thank you very much!

Yes, the servo wasn't enough to center it after turning because of all the down gearing I had to do. It works really well now. :D

What is that purple thing on the side of the differential?

Thats a washer I made from container lid. It greatly helps keep the weak Diff from cracking under the pressure of driving. :sweet: I learned that from the hot rod. haha

Quick update, progress is very slow. :(

So the grey axle is input (YES REALLY)

and all those black gears are gearing up so 4th gear will be 1:1 before diff.

I'm thinking a row of 16t from the 2 XLs, but I will have to use a switch to reverse one of the XL's cos the gears are not center cos of the gearbox.

The gearbox looks nice, is it your own design?

tim

Thanks Tim, no its not, not even sure where it comes from actually. The shifter mechanism isn't mine either, (Jaco4001) but I modded it so it uses the servo well, and doesn't fall to pieces. :P . :)

progress looks very good, could you make a pic from the side please, to show how the wheels look like in your body?

I plan to use the buggy RC motors and the steering unit as well, and base the body on the '69 dodge charger.

but I will "borrow" partially your body design  , it looks really really good.

First Plan was to make it blue, but there aren't enough panel parts in blue, 2nd plan was black with orange stripes, but I might switch to orange with black stripes. as I own an unimog ;)

Thanks very much! I can't give you a side pic as yet, as the body isn't attached to the chassis, cos there isn't one.

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I have something working. :sweet:

Good luck with your project tho!

Very cool lot's of innovation here, as well as looking pretty good. If you were gonna have a gearbox I would just use the old test cars style it's a lot smaller, you have to stop the car to change the gear though which I wouldn't care myself as it is a model.

still no pic from the side with wheels? ;)

I just finished first part of the chassis at the weekend.

Used the buggy RC unit, motors and steering unit. It fits the 1:10 scale nearly perfect.

I just don't know if the suspension of the steering unit will work properly.
