stebai Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Having never really took on a big project before (I usually just content myself with Winter Village building) I decided I had to have a go after visiting an exhibition. I choose the Titanic after thinking how much the technic bricks were suited to use as portholes, and I always (waaaay before Leo & Kate) liked the story. Anyway 2 years of design, on and off, and this is the result. I know there are easily more accurate representations that have been created, but I went for a more detailed approach at the expense of scale on occasion. Like the crows nest is way big but it's so important, also cranes that move etc. In the end I am super happy with it and at 2870 pieces it didn't entirely break the bank either. It was infact a joy to build, however displaying a piece that's a meter long presents way more problems! I played around with photoshop for a vintage look to some of the photo's - I hope you enjoy them. There are more images on Flickr if you are interested: Thanks for looking Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Beautiful MOC stebai! I love when AFOLs brick build this ship. You did a fantastic job Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Amazing Moc! I love this ship and I 'm fascinated from its story. See a so much detailed work is a joy! Quote
Xcod119 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) Very Nice! What will you do with it Now? Edited February 25, 2014 by Xcod119 Quote
elleana Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Love the use of Technic bricks for portholes. Quote
stebai Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 Very Nice! What will you do with it Now? Thats an interesting question, and one I never really thought of during the whole time I was planning/building it I will no doubt take it down again this month, then rebuild for the Brickvention in Melbourne next year. I have full instructions so it's no big deal I guess but my cupboard is brimming with lego in snaplock bags! Quote
New_guy Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Gorgeous interpretation. Clearly you have a lot to be proud of. I think it looks excellent and you should keep it assembled and create a nautical/Titanic theme room in your home. Quote
Murdoch17 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Awesome job! I really like the sloping sides, and the cranes! You say you have instructions, are you willing to share those? If not, that's okay. Quote
ritzcrackerman Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Fantastic interpretation! This looks like it could be a D2C set, it has that nice polished look to it. Bravo! Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Awesome job! I really like the sloping sides, and the cranes! You say you have instructions, are you willing to share those? If not, that's okay. I too would love to see them. Quote
Dfenz Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Thats an interesting question, and one I never really thought of during the whole time I was planning/building it I will no doubt take it down again this month, then rebuild for the Brickvention in Melbourne next year. I have full instructions so it's no big deal I guess but my cupboard is brimming with lego in snaplock bags! If you have instructions I'd also be very interested in seeing them as there is a LEGO exhibition planned later this year for the Titanic museum in Belfast (which is located on the site where the Titanic was built). Something like this would no doubt be of interest. Quote
Boettner Builds Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 This is the best "smaller" LEGO Titanic I have ever seen! Awesome job! Quote
greg3 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 That is fantastic!! The technic portholes are a great idea and the whole ship just looks great. I especially like all the little deck details - excellent work which definitely deserves to be on display somewhere!! Quote
Sir E Fullner Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I'm King of the World! Great work, though. Quote
Only Sinner Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 This is a really neat model. I'm sure many people would like to own an official version of this. Quote

ScotNick Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Wow that's a stunning great build! I liked the ship itself when I was younger (and still do) and you got everything right! Brick on stebai... Quote
Gabor Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Amazing! You built the angles very well! Great and detailed model! Quote
plastic_ati Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 That's very nice, it has an old school feeling, even when it uses more modern elements/colors for details. "Everything is Awesome" Quote
