Maedhros Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Hello, as some of you might know I have a fictional world with a tech level of the 1700s or something where my story is set. Thought I Quote
Landlubber Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 They look really good. I especially like the Acchian officers. They look like an arrogant vain bunch of scoundrels. Which are the "goodies" and which are the "baddies"? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 4, 2007 Governor Posted May 4, 2007 Mr Maedhros, is this thread related to your Fallen story? Quote

Captain Roger Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 great minifigs...i like specially officers and spaniards...about that guys: I think you should change that purple trousers Quote
ZCerberus Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 great minifigs...i like specially officers and spaniards...about that guys: I think you should change that purple trousers I think purple is the thing connecting this whole faction! I would be more inclined to change the shirts from blue to something else... white or black or purple, or maybe even green... pretty much anything but blue. I realize that you may have practical considerations to deal with, but I am not a fan of the blue/purple scheme. I also don't entirely understand the red/blue mix on the first guys either, but practical considerations may be at work! Quote

Actually my thought when I made the Acchians was that they would be a little too garish and that their uniforms would kind of scream "wrong!" The blue is actually to tie them in with their ancient heraldry (I used Black Falcons to represent them in the Castle version of this world), I think you can even spot that little falcon on one of the officers. And the same goes for the blue/red scheme of the Steodians, that's because they were Crusaders/KKI once upon a time... Quote
oo7 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Nice troops, especially those royal guards, they're a very refreshing change. I too like the purple, it's very majestic. >8-) :-P Quote

Do you have an outline or a link to the castle stories that occur earlier in these factions histories? P Quote

Do you have an outline or a link to the castle stories that occur earlier in these factions histories?P Well... I have an illustrated short story here: Click me! And an unfinished and unillustrated much longer story here: Click me! (again) And a development thread of sorts: Click me! (yet again!) A lot of that is outdated though, developments in culture, story and before all language has happened a lot of times... A few examples: Old New Gorthein - Godhrik Brechtel - Breastal Brystei - Brestey Lataria - Acc(h)ia Saes - Steodians Hengist - Anchrist Mwrgyaen - Dyryaen Hmm.. maybe this post would have been better in the Fallen thread... I hope I answered your question anyway *sweet* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 4, 2007 Governor Posted May 4, 2007 Yep, this is where that story takes place. Then might I suggest you put a link to the Fallen thread at the top of this one, then put a link to this thread at the top of the Fallen. This would make them more cohesive and direct some more discussion towards the Fallen thread - if you think you need that. Quote

Its good to see people taking the theme in other directions. The more the merrier. Gives me something else to look at then historical models :P Not that i dont extremely like the historical stuff, but its good to see new stuff too. keep up the good work. I would agree with the purple pants... I would make the units purple... but thats just me. good work. Quote
Wout Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Looks good *sweet* Also a nice map (I like old maps) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2007 Governor Posted May 7, 2007 Well... I have an illustrated short story here: Click me!And an unfinished and unillustrated much longer story here: Click me! (again) Dagnammit! I still haven't got round to reading this story yet. This is what blinkin assignments do! Quote
Maedhros Posted May 7, 2007 Author Posted May 7, 2007 This is what blinkin assignments do! Blinkin assignments...? :S And to make this clear about the purple-blue combo. It isn't supposed to look good so I Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 8, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 8, 2007 I like historic accuracy, but there are some exception. This is one of those exceptions, because you've put great effort in presenting your factions in a believable manner. And its nice to see you have been playing with the colors of some of the torso's from the library. That bird (is it an eagle?) on the Napoleon torso looks really good. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 8, 2007 Governor Posted May 8, 2007 Blinkin assignments...? :S Yeah, I had to review an art gallery exhibition, it was my first time so there was a bit of a learning curve. I've got it done now so I'll have a look at Fallen now. And to make this clear about the purple-blue combo. It isn't supposed to look good so I Quote
