Kintobor Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Hey guys! I got something I thought I'd show the community, since despite mainly being in the Heroica forum, I'm quite the avid Lego Train enthusiast, as well as an enthusiast of model trains in general. When I saw that Lego was releasing parts for a mermaid, in particular the legs, it got me thinking if I could use it somewhere on my layout. So, after a couple of months of ordering parts and a few design tweaks, I'm glad to present my take on an aquarium car! Here it is from the side! There's a bit of foliage inside to stimulate a water setting. Here it is from the back. It' the same on the other side. A view from the other side. Same as before. Fish out of water! You can make out the clear circle piece that the mermaid sit on to give somewhat of an illusion she's floating in water. So, what do you guys think? Quote
Pizzareno Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Such a novel idea. I like it because it is so different. You won't find one of them in any old modelling magazine Quote
jtlan Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 So it's really a passenger car, right? Nicely done! It's great to see a more whimsical car for a change. Will we see cars for more monster-folk in the future? Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Very original wagon! Top work! ;-) Quote

Kintobor Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Thanks for the feedback, guys! It's really appreciated! So it's really a passenger car, right? Nicely done! It's great to see a more whimsical car for a change. Will we see cars for more monster-folk in the future? I guess you could say that! Not at the moment, but I did have an idea to make a box car for one of my vampire coffins, and a cattle car for one of the smaller dinosaurs out of the Dino line. We'll see, it'll be a while off. Kintobor, Very cool. Hereby I ask your permission to borrow this splendid idea Sure, go ahead! "I'd love to see the finished model! Quote
Jorrith Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Very out of the box for a train car, i like it! (train fan and aquarium owner) Quote
Hey Joe Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Hey, it's funny and thanks for sharing. It would really go well with a circus train. I might get a handful of 1x1 trans blue plates (is that what they call the little round ones?) to throw in there for 'water'. Joe Quote
AlmightyArjen Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 How do people come up with these ideas?? I love it! Nice job! Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Very neat idea for mermaid transport. How do they get in though? Does the train have to reverse down a slipway into the sea, that would be something worth seeing? Quote
