Scouty Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Linienschiff 28a, Frigate 28c Once again, a Brickshelf find! These are some nice ships. Folder description: "Modellbaumesse 2007 in St_Poelten". These are from Austria LUG, as mentioned by Hobbes. This white one(Limienschiff) is very nice. That side window of the yellow one (Frigate) is fabulous! Side two of the two ships. A governers' mansion? I hope so. Looks nice. Mr. B, think you'd be interested in this one ;-) ! I like these two ships. They're very ornate. That one is my favorite. Edit: My appologies, here is the folder : Clicky! Edit 2: More pictures from Hobbe's link. Thanks for the translation and info Hobbes! And I fixed some information as well as the thread title. I actually like the rown colors mixed with the whites. Ouch, that's alot of ladder bending! Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 5, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 5, 2007 That white/brown ships look very good. I would like some close-up pics but I guess they don't exist. The mansion is a bit bigger than my version :-D. And it has such an impressive garden. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 5, 2007 Governor Posted May 5, 2007 I've added "Modellbaumesse 2007" to the title of this thread since I assume thats where these MOCs were on display. If that's incorrect or anybody has more information don't hesitate to inform! Quote
oo7 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Lovely. X-D Seriously, some of the best I've seen. Thank for for posting these, Commander. Very cool. Quote
Asuka Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Very interesting.... It seems that this fair was near my hometown.... Thanks for that information, nice folder. There Quote
El Bucanero Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 The brown/white ship is stunningly beautiful! Although I don't like the colour-scheme. If this ship was in yellow and black, it would be even more beautiful. The other ship is also a fine one. And the mansion is also great. Mr Tiber Quote
Scouty Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 I think the white on really forwards towards a real ship. It kind of bulges out, and has many things a ship of these ages would. So, I really think this is one of the best Minifig Ships I have ever seen, besides Legopirate's giant one. Welcome back Mr. Tiber! We be missing you! Quote

So, I really think this is one of the best Minifig Ships I have ever seen, besides Legopirate's giant one. You're right. The only thing I think he could do to make it look even better is giving the fore-mast an extra sail. Other than that (besides the colour-scheme) it is great. Welcome back Mr. Tiber! We be missing you! Thanks. That one month was painfully long... It's good to be back. :'-) Mr Tiber Quote
ZCerberus Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 That side window is fabulous! This one is okay, but I am not a huge fan. the main mast is WAY too tall and I don't like the sails. The side window is nice, but I think the stern castle is a little too tall. Side two of the two ships. I like the brown/white one much better. It looks like it is using brown and rown though. I would also like a close up before making any official judgements on it! Quote
Scouty Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 Well, these were the only pictures I could find. So, no luck on closer pics :-( . Quote
Hobbes Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Modellbau = modeling/model building Messe = fair Those are pics from a "modeling/model building fair" at St. P Quote
El Bucanero Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 ImperialScouts, I see you wrote Limienschiff, but it has to be Linienschiff (meaning ship of the line). And since you also wrote frigate instead of fregatte, why don't you just write ship of the line? :-$ Just a friendly suggestion. I have to say, those brickshelf finds are getting better and better! Mr Tiber Quote
Scouty Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Linienschiff is what I have on the topic title. Writing 'ship of the line' would make the title to long, and I figured fregatte would be frigate, correct me if I am wrong. Well, by the url's of the images, the white one was called Linienschiff and the yellow one fregatte. :capn: Quote

Sorry! Anyway, you can also write "Lineship" I think that's also a correct term. I have a pirate game where one of the ship types is Lineship, it has about the same size and armament as this ship, so I think it's correct... And yes, fregatte is frigate. *sweet* Linienschiff: Ship of the line, or lineship I guess... Mr Tiber Quote

Scouty Posted May 7, 2007 Author Posted May 7, 2007 Nope, that was my work X-D . As well with adding more information and pictures to the first post. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2007 Governor Posted May 7, 2007 Actually the log reveals it was Mr Tiber... So unless you've hacked into Mr Tiber's account... Quote
El Bucanero Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Actually the log reveals it was Mr Tiber... So unless you've hacked into Mr Tiber's account... Not quite, Mr Scouts changed the title but he wrote Limienschiff instead of Linienschiff. So I changed it to Linienschiff. So nope, nobody hacked me! Mr Tiber Quote
Scouty Posted May 7, 2007 Author Posted May 7, 2007 Huh, so I did mispell it. Okay, nevermind then. I have no hacking knowledge, by the way. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2007 Governor Posted May 7, 2007 Ah yes, he's a Fellow so he can edit titles of the threads he creates. But anyway... Mr Bonaparte, will your finished Governor's mansion look anything like this? X-D Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 7, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 7, 2007 Mr Bonaparte, will your finished Governor's mansion look anything like this? X-D Mmmmm, it will be a bit different. Mine is a bit more modest . Besides, this garden is too big for Joshua to maintain ;-). You might accuse me of something :-D . Quote
