xwingyoda Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Hey guys, could we calm down a little bit!! Nobody knows what the future hold, so I say lets wait and see ;) I'll miss Spidy!! God speed little masked dude X:D Quote
Jipay Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 the first is in dutch and confirms what i've said... it dates from 26/02/05 . that's pretty recent for me...about legoland... no one is going to confirm this obviously... that doesn't mean they aren't looking around... "the times" is, by the way, a respectable source... other respectable journalists (Paul D'hoore,...) said the same thing... sure you can ask Jake about this but you know what the answer is going to be, don't you? you're also taking this out of context. i was stating that tlc is going through a lot of structural changes, because of financial troubles. consequently, their decisions on what, where and how to sell will very much depend on that new position. I'm just giving you my view on why vikings will be released in Europe and not in the US. I also indicated that it's a theory, and told you NOT to accept it as the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. however, if i went way too far with this, than i sincerely apolagize... >-| The we agree ! I think most of the strategical orientation will be taken at the end of this year (after we messed up Legoland billund ^^) And yeah i know what Jake's answer would look like ^^ We all know that jake never ever directlyh answer a single question we asked him. Precious Jazz Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 If the rumours of a Star Wars television series are true I can see Lego renewing the SW license. Quote
Jipay Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 yeah but it has to be before 2007 then, which is coming fast. And you can writte star wars serie normaly. A queen has all the rights ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I hope things like Vikings aren't under the category of the 'exotic' sets being dropped - historical sets are great! And I don't think LEGO will license a TV show after Galidor, especially after saying they're dropping all licenses. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 What about the Ferrari licence? Will it be dropped too :'( ? Quote
MattZitron Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 If the rumours of a Star Wars television series are true I can see Lego renewing the SW license. That's a certainty. They're remaining tight lipped until after EP3. It being TV rather than a movie, I'm pretty sure it'd be with us before 2007. But regardless, it'll be in development, so Lego and Lucas could talk. snefroe Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 the Dutch text confirms that we (at least belgium-luxemburg) will get a viking set this year. the sw licence, according to fbtb.com runs out in 2007. however, the guy who brought tlc and lucas together, has been given the sack. i guess tlc will wait untill mid 2006 before signing anything. they will probably want to see how this year goes... there are rumours that tlc can get out earlier. however, it's a rumour. i don't know what's in the contract. but very often, you get articles in it that makes it possible for one partner to end the contract sooner... i think all we know right now is that sw runs through 2007, the rest is speculation on the streamlining or dropping of exotic themes... this might be very good thing for the city theme. tlc wants themes "that are closer to home" (dutch text again) perhaps in the future they might expand their city theme further. that would be great to |-D |-D |-D Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Bottom line you SW fans out there: buy a LOT of sets this year, so TLC keeps/renews the SW licence :-D :P Expension of city: Amen to that TLC *satis* Quote
Vader Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Well no one can say that lego isnt giving us plenty of star wars sets this year and i think lego should be given a pat on the back for doing so. :) Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 INDEED *satis* dark lord :-D I was really thinking of 2006, crucial year for that matter!! Quote
snefroe Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 there is a contract with ferrari for 2005 and 2006, signed on 02/02/2004 Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Thanks for the good news :) Lets hope it will renewed afterwards (even if I doubt it!!) Quote
