i want to buy third party pneumatic hose - now i'm wondering about the correct specification so it will fit perfect to the pneumatic parts...

AFAIK it is:

- 4 mm outer diameter

- 2 mm inner diameter

- 1 mm "wall" thinckness

a flexible silicon hose...

Is this correct?

If yes, does anybody know a good seller with fair price and good quality? Best would be in germany but EU would be ok too...

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Kumbbl,

I bought some hose for my WIP last month. Polyurethane though, I found the prices too high for silicon hose at the lengths I needed. I got 20m hose for about 6.5 euro from Elfa.se (Distrelec.de) instead of 2.5 euro/m at blokbricks. Only comes in lengths of 20 or 100m though

It suits my needs consisting mainly of transporting air long distance through a rigid chassis. I'm sure it would handle moving joints pretty well, but I haven't tried it yet.

There are a few drawbacks with polyurethane however:

1. Being a plastic material makes it harder to mount and dismount on the pneumatic parts, might be a problem when mounting in tight areas.

2. While flexible, it isn't as flexible as silicon hose. 2L radius curve instead of 1L.

For the price I think it can't hurt to buy it.

I can recommend these third party pneumatic hoses: http://www.ebay.de/itm/20m-Schlauch-SET-fur-TECHNIK-hose-tube-Pneumatik-Hydraulik-Druckluft-Schlauche-/181031508463?pt=DE_Allesf%C3%BCrdKind_Spielzeug_Lego&hash=item2a265199ef

They fit perfectly on original Lego parts and they are a bit more flexible then the original ones. In my case it was also possible to vary the colours to my request.

Last year or so I have purchased those same hoses that Stefan already recommended. They fit perfectly. They are also more like the old hoses from a lot of years back. They go easy on the pneumatic connectors and sit tight enough. Way better than the struggle with current hoses.
