I have a chance to buy the set below. However, i don't want to spend more than what it is worth. What is the going rate for this set?

I am no expert when it comes to monorail parts, but after a little research here is what I found. At current prices on Bricklink, this set parted out would be around $120-130USD (shipping not incl. for the indiv. orders) for parts alone. I am assuming that means that this set as a whole is worth around the same if not a little less. Pricey pieces are the 2 long straights ($15+/pc), short curve pieces ($15+/pc), and the switch points ($17+/pc) if pieces are in "good condition". The others are menial in price ($0.02-$5</ea)

Is it the parts, or box as well

Box and all. Looks to have never been used.

I once saw this set on the top shelf of an old toy shop in Wales 10 years after it went out of production, I still kick myself now for not parting with £20 and picking it up, but at the time I was monorail less, so I did not see the point…..very annoying.

Well it wasn't to be. The seller ended up taking an offer of $165.

That's about what I've seen it going for lately, unfortunately.

I've been able to snag a bunch of track recently on eBay from lucky buy it nows from people who didn't know what they had. Got a boxed 6921 for $90, 5 long straights & 9 short straights for $57, and a 6991 for $125. I had been looking for about a year to find these deals though.
