2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 Well yeah, that is massive... This is going to be an impressive truck, that is for sure!!! Are you sure you don't want to shorten the skirts by 4 studs or so, to make it a little shorter. For me the height/length proportion is a little lost, but that is personal I know Never the less will the final combination you have in mind be extremely impressive!!! That is what we all can be sure of Quote
Lundgren Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) Well I have some more plans for it :) I'm thinking winch and a pretty big spoiler on the sleeper cab. So in my picture that I have in my mind I think it will look really good! I put on the chromed tiles on the footsteps today and that made it look even more nicer! :D Edited June 11, 2014 by Lundgren Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 I am sure you are right about that, you have a plan and please stick to it! You make me more and more curious about it, but I have to patient... Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 This longer version is looking awesome. Quote
Lundgren Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) What do you think about this roof spoiler!? (Yes I've been looking on your trucks as you know Ingmar! :D ) I can just dream of being able to create the kind of creations you do! Sorry for hijacking your thread Ingmar, maybe I should start a separate thread about this "Black Bat" ;) ? Edited June 11, 2014 by Lundgren Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 That spoiler looks awesome and yes it looks familiar... It also gives the truck a little more height and that looks very nice. And you added the chromed steps and front grill, nice too... Sorry for hijacking your thread Ingmar, maybe I should start a separate thread about this "Black Bat" ;) ? Yeah, well, I don't know. I don't mind you share of this with us, it is just amazing. Let me say that it is up to you... Quote
Lundgren Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Well I'm done with the exterior styling of this "Black Bat" (I think?) Waiting for some parts to finish the last touches! Now it's the technic parts left to figure out! Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 Black, black and black it is, I like it very much!!! I really hope others like it as well, there is not much comments added to this thread... Your and ritztoys alternate builds are just amazing, yes they are!!! The shovel is a nice touch and I really love the idea of replacing all Black at the rear end of this truck. Even the rubber belts are replaced by Black ones. Thanks for the comparison pictures too, this really gives an idea of how big that tow truck is!!! Quote
efferman Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 oh what a beauty, but imho the trailer coupling should move a bit forward. Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 oh what a beauty, but imho the trailer coupling should move a bit forward. Well, you might be right, but that is not that easy Thanks for you input and comment! Lundgren, if you want to do as efferman suggested you have to lengthen the drive axle that powers the most rear axle. If you don't do so, the fifth wheel and the drive axle will conflict! Quote
Lundgren Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Hehe yes Ingmar! Very black indeed it is, I think that every part available in black is black! Even the pins! (Just some parts I'm missing though) (I know unnecessary expensive, but good looking!) The shovel is the one from Fabuland. So it's 100% Lego! (Even the rubber bands actually). Thanks Efferman! I'm a proud owner of Ingmars creations as you might have figured out!? :) Well I totally agree about the coupler, it needs to be more forward! But as Ingmar says it's pretty crowded below it so not that easy. I'm thinking of doing another version more "Model Teamy lookin" (still working though) Well about comments in the thread I just hope that people are stunned by your work so they don't know what to write about it! ;) Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) You are right to do it the way you want. I decided to go with every common Technic Pin color so everybody has easy access. Building a custom version as you do, yes please go more expensive, why wouldn't you? A more model team looking fifth wheel that actually works, well good luck with that For me it was not that important, it has both technic and studded parts and the functionality is important to me. Well, if you manage, let us know Well about comments in the thread I just hope that people are stunned by your work so they don't know what to write about it! ;) I guess so, let us hope indeed Edited June 16, 2014 by 2LegoOrNot2Lego... 2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 @ Lundgren: I was wondering, did you ever got the chance to promote these models of mine at that Swedish forum you wrote about once? Quote
Lundgren Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) Absolutely Ingmar! They liked them alot there. Here's the link if you're curious. (google translate?) http://www.swebrick....hp?topic=6864.0 Edited June 16, 2014 by Lundgren Quote
efferman Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 ingmar, can you please post your fifth wheel coupling in the trailer couplings thread? Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) Yes, off course! I did so a minute ago... Edited June 16, 2014 by 2LegoOrNot2Lego... Quote
Lundgren Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Why not make a Rotator Wrecker out of it while I'm waiting for parts? Sooo many ideas..... Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014  Looks amazing!!! So many ideas? Well, I know all about it It really never ends, a life time is way to short Uhm... so many ideas, and also that much time... Where do get all this time to spend on building with LEGO??? Other just wait for parts, you build yourself a Rotator Wrecker... Quote
Lundgren Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Haha :) well the summer in Sweden doesn't seem to come :( I only have 16 degrees in my pool :( So just for now time is the only thing I have, still not enough though! ;) I just wanted to combine the best of three worlds. You, Grazi and Klijn! So more to build! ;) Quote
Freekysch Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 These are so great models, i wish i had the money and time to buy all the pieces for the build. The Wrecker is a neat idea too ! Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Haha :) well the summer in Sweden doesn't seem to come :( I only have 16 degrees in my pool :( I just wanted to combine the best of three worlds. You, Grazi and Klijn! O, I see, you have to stay in why not build yourself more models! You are so right about it!!! Those two other builders you mention are just amazing, nice to have these worlds combined... These are so great models, i wish i had the money and time to buy all the pieces for the build. The Wrecker is a neat idea too ! It is so great to see builders go there own way with these models. This really is an honor, I design and develop the initial build and this Lundgren takes it to another level. Really amazing!!! Quote
Lundgren Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Hehe yes I'll definitely build more models, as you know I have the parts for your T2 truck and the wonderful Liebherr L580 by M Longer. Next part gathering will be for Klijn's amazing Tow Truck XL. As you said, a lifetime is too short! :) Quote
