Lord Tyrus Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I think I'll have a go... The Empire will crush ALL rebelions and all who stand in our way! Quote
Nom Carver Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Thats the spirit! show that rebel scum what you are capable of. Quote
BEAVeR Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 So... will there still be an overall winner this time? Not that my super-lame, 5-year-old, flick-fire-overloaded and SNOT-oblivious build even makes a chance to win, but I don't know if it's really compelling for people to put their best leg forth. You can already see that, since there are so few builds being posted... But seriously, are the blog-banners full? As a veteran, I know the true glory comes from fighting for you faction (well, in case of that faction being the Empire at least), but for the new recruits something to look forward too could really motivate them, although it's pretty late already... There will be five winners, the five best of each location, the best thing I had to offer was the extra XP, there is nothing else I can do unless I can materialize lego sets out of the blue, I actually have had quite a hard time geting legos for my self in this country, I hope I could give you what you deserve for your effort, but since I dont have actual prizes and I consider my self a follower of F. Nietzche teachings (I dont believe in rewards or punishments) we will have to do without prizes for now. This sounds cool It is, you are welcomed to join the fun! One of the problems with this episode - no reason to reveal your position early.... unless you are in the Empire, apparently.... I have to admit that this situation was on purpose to encourage some team work, regarding to the imperial troops behaviour, that may be part of their plan . Quote

Of course I don't expect you to summon sets or so, I was referring to more immaterial rewards, like I just pointed out in the feedback thread. Another question: do there have to be minifigs in the scene, or can everything be e.g. miniland scale? Or are things like micro-building only allowed for forced-perspective backgrounds and such? Just so that I can better see where my build is going... Quote
Ninja Nin Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Hi Nom Carver, I have two questions : 1) Is there a warden of this prison facility ? 2) The Episode will run from 4 March to 17 April 2014. As long as it's still 17 April somewhere in the world, you can still enter. For example I am in HK, which is +8 GMT. Even though it is going to be 18th April here but somewhere else (say Europe) still 17th April, I can submit my entry, am I correct ? Just want to confirm it to avoid getting disqualified. Thanks ! It doesn't matter what day it is where you are; as long the 17th of April is still going on somewhere, you are not late. This was discussed a couple of times in the previous episodes, I believe; there was a discussion about what was the last place on earth to experience a given date. I think it was Episode III, because there was a boatload of Imperial players who were having technical difficulties and trying to get a little more time to upload their episode build pictures. Quote
Kaitan Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Samoa is the last place on earth to see midnight, and Samoa time is -11 GMT Quote

Not necessarily, as long as you depict a single position of the base and you are actually helping or stoping the enemy from escaping (destroying a ship about to flee or targeting enemies on the ground). Regarding to other prizes, I will check the feedback thread. Thanks ! 1- There must be an officer in charge of the facility but he may be heavily guarded after the arrival of the imperial reinforcements, so you can give it a try on playing rambo against him 2- Yes, as long as its still 17 somewere else in the world Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 One week left (and a few hours depending on where you live) to post entries Quote
LegoFjotten Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 ...as long as you depict a single position of the base... Hang on, that is new to me! The entry must depict a single position??? So if you have a docking bay that also shows the main gate, a guard tower or perimeter walls it will be disqualified? Or if you have a detention block that also shows weapons storage or a communications station it will be disqualified? Please tell me that was just a bad choice of words… you mean an entry will only compete in one location, and that it must feature elements that represents that specific location, right? Quote
Lego Spy Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I think it was just an unusual choice of words. You could depict Secors A, B, C, D, and E in a single entry, but you'll only be judged for one of them. (I'm pretty sure that's what he means...) Quote

You can place more elements of other sectors on your build but you must have chosen a single one (most likely the one that is more representative) because your entry will count once in a single place, a single creation cant be judged on two places nor its builder post more than one entry for this contest. BEAVeR Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 With only two days left, we have 8 builds. Is SoNE really going that bad? I'll see if I can finish my entry in a hurry, but 9 still isn't much. I hope we get a lot of last-minute entries, but people really shouldn't flirt with the deadline like that! Still, a late entry is better than no entry at all. I hope everything will be worth the wait! BTW: the rules state that XP will only be gained by the victors in each sector. Won't this make it nearly impossible for some (with e.g. a really limited supply of bricks) to gain XP? Quote

Won't this make it nearly impossible for some (with e.g. a really limited supply of bricks) to gain XP? No!!! everybody gets XP acording to the quality of their builds (up to 10 XP because this is an episode) the winner build of each location will be getting twice the points awarded. Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Interesting episode! I can't wait untill tomorrow, to see all the builds appear in different sectors. I couldn't find it in the rules, so just one suggestion to avoid any inconvenience: in case of a tied score in a sector, I'd say the winner takes it all. For example: Empire has the best scored MOC in sector C and 2 builders, and the rebel scum has 5 builders in that sector. The score is even 5:5, so I suggest the best MOC shifts the scales and Empire wins, yuhey! Quote

That will be put into consideration by judges, in my opinion, it should depend on the heroism of the trooper or the effort depicted on the battle, I mean, some times the strength of a single soldier stands out against the many, I have no doubt that at least one of the places will be controlled by a single brave champion, but remember, the best build gets only 4 points and not five. "...the number of entries of each faction in a specific place will count as 1 point on that location (not depending on the size of it),with the exeption of the best scored entry in the place which will receive 4 points..." Edited April 17, 2014 by Nom Carver Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Yes, that's why I said that the Empire has 2 builders in sector C in my example, which makes it 4+1 = 5 and 5 builders fo rebels = 5*1 = 5. I don't mind if the higher amount of builders wins in this case, I just think that it should be stated in the rules what happens in the event of tie. So that we don't get the feeling, that there were some bribes going on, since numbers don't tell everything ... Quote
Nom Carver Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 You are right, I will get to this in a moment, but pay not to much importance to numbers, and the judges will be as impartial as they should, that's why there are representants of both factions and neutral members of the forum. Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 In case of a tie, I think the Alliance should win... we'll win anyway Quote
