takuto20 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Hey guys have you seen this limited edition airport? I speak Chinese and not Japanese, but it is obvious it says 1.000 units only. I think it's worth it, so cute!!! Quote
oo7 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I saw this on brickshelf quite a bit ago. It looks like the same set with extra stickers. Not too special if you ask me. TLG does this with many of the new airport sets. Check out the matching set invintories for the black short legs, each airline gets special stickers to go with the same set. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=41879&in=S Quote

The airport is a regular set, though. True, it's nothing overly exciting, but it looks good with real Airline stickers and it includes a tarmac ;-) Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Yeah, it's another airline promo. Same set with stickers. I've never been a fan of the plane that comes with the latest airport, it seems short and stumpy to me. And in my opinion it looks even worse with the ANA stickers and no red striping. Quote
Hobbes Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I've never been a fan of the plane that comes with the latest airport, it seems short and stumpy to me. Well, planes that size do exist but this one has the wrong nose IMHO. With a bullier nose it would look better. This sleek nose is better suited for a longer plane... Quote
natelite Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 i can read some japanese so i'll help translate. this can be purchased for 15,750 yen (approx $110). it's called the lego city airport ana version. it has a limited model seal (sticker) that you can apply to your airplane. you're right, there're only 1000 sets. the set has 700 blocks and comes with a set of customized stickers you can used on your normal minifigs. it says it will take an adult about 180 mins to build and the set is for age 5 and up. there is also the lego airplane ana version which was already sold out. it was also a limited edition with only 1000 sets, sold at 9800 yen (about $70). also came with the special stickers. it's a big rip off if you ask me. the airplane sells for $40 at ls@h. don't think stickers cost $30... :-P i suppose there are always crazy lego fans out there willing to pay for it though. *sing* Quote
takuto20 Posted May 7, 2007 Author Posted May 7, 2007 Sorry I always bring old news. And thanks a lot, natelite, for your informative translation! So it' looks like its still available... Oh well, I was going to buy a second airport anyway (I want to put one behind the other so that they form a dome-like structure, hinged so I can open it), so this is perfect.. It is a pain the stickers make it 30% more expensive (maybe only compared to the euro price of the original airport) but in my opinion the blue is sooooo nice. Quote

paul Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Nice set, I am looking at getting the airport as soon as funds allow. mmmm, got me thinking,if I buy some nice glossy adhesive printing paper and download some airline logos....anythings possible.Virgin,Easyjet,British airways...... Quote
Athos Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 I wish the planes didn't suck so bad (too many large pieces). I like all the trans-panels and windows in the airport. Steve Quote
MatthewUSA Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 If you think about this set, this set will definitly be a collectors item. This is the only set that you will find that particular plane and color scheme for the plane. In a way, I would definitly think about this set too. I think this set looks pretty *sweet* . Definitly a set totally different than the regular one in production. Quote
