Ridge Montante Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 That's a lot of pieces. This sounds interesting. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this post. Quote

skriblez Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 250K parts when its done? Madness!!! Will be watching this thread! BL sellers must love it when you visit their shops :P Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Mine last BL order haved 51354 parts and the owner off the store don't belived it. Quote
weavil Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 He probably pooped a gold brick! I would be happy with just 30K parts. Best luck in your journey to empty all of BL! Quote
D3K Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Can't wait to see what scale this will be! Not to mention what the model/models will be! Always awesome!! Is this project a request from a company? Like in.. maybe a shipbuilder? Quote
unimog123 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Will it use an insane amount of liftarms? It must if it's going to be 250000 pieces. Can't wait to learn more about this massive project. Quote
Rishab N Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Wow that is a huge amount of pieces . Looking forward to progress Quote
Balrog Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I believe I said it before, but I'll just say it again: You're crazy I can't wait to see what you're building. Quote
750ACE Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I asked this in the past but how do you know how many parts to start with? Do you calculate number of parts estimate based off of projected scale and weight? Do you use a cad program? Quote
Doc_Brown Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 That is crazy! I'm wondering too. Did you make bulk orders directly to Lego? Quote
captainmib Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) Project shipyard... A floating dock? or something like that? Sounds interesting, and that's a looooooooooooooot of parts. That BL shop owner must be happy. How do you finance this? Edited March 12, 2014 by captainmib Quote
OzBen Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Insane!! I love it and as others have mentioned I will be eagerly watching this thread for updates :-) Quote
darsedz Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) this project needs 250.000 parts..., his GABON only 38.000... WOW... it must be something really big :) Edited March 12, 2014 by darsedz Quote
Vee Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 And I thought I was crazy by spending money in BL buying 6000+ pieces over the course of my 3 months in BL... Quote
0RBlT Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I wonder how much the model will weigh in the final assembly? And how you'll transport it all? Yes, I've seen a couple really huge in size but karabli 250,000 parts it's just crazy! Quote
skppo Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) Has someone calculated what amount of bricks will collapse form their own mass? Insane. I like it. Edited March 12, 2014 by skppo Quote
Vee Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 There must be a reason, a sponsor, an explanation why someone would make a 250k piece Lego project. I can't imagine someone doing this just for the sake of a hobby. Quote
