Captain America Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 One thing which is kind of funny is that people often say that the passenger train looks the same as the others ... when only one white sleek one nose pieced train was ever released, back in 2006 and it had a flaw. Quote
Steinkopf Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I wish TLG would release more train accessories and carriages i know they wont so i have turned to the dark side of 'Clone bricks' to satisfy my train need's Any one have any ideas of the Over Priced Australian cost of these 2 trains? If you want more trains and accessories why not try building MOC's thats what I did, don't waste your money on 'Clone Bricks' your better off Bricklinking parts and making your own train stuff at least that way its still LEGO. And for a child of eight years old it has no relevance that there has been another similar train in the year he was born, only afols feel this way. Quote

Thats what i have been trying to do lately build mocs with blink orders, sadly i have the talent of a half used bar of soap lol. Quote
Captain America Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Exactly alois, the children are the focal demographic :) Quote

When it comes to talent it's something that develops over a period of time, I look back at how I built trains when I got into it in 2003 and see a vast difference in quality and style when compared to what I build these days, have a good look at the Flickr LEGO Trains Techniques group http://www.flickr.co...ps/1353660@N21/ for building ideas, also the Flickr LEGO Trains group https://www.flickr.c...ups/legotrains/ is a great place for inspiration. You can also get great building instructions from railbricks or brickshelf (and even ebay sometimes), or use someone elses moc for ideas. As long as you do this for personal use, I see no harm in this. If you want to keep the original LEGO feel to it, you can also buy single cars from previous years on ebay and bricklink. Quote
antp Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I think they're going out of business tbh. The Horizon Express was a genius move: you HAD to buy two sets Better than previous trains where you hesitated to buy the second one just for the wagon, having an useless locomotive. Here even the locomotive was useful. Quote
retrainmytrain Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I am very happy for the new 2014 lego trains! They are so much better than the 2010 trains! Finally an American freight train! Looks like a CSX! The passenger train looks exactly the same as the RC one. Oh well. Here is a link to see them: http://www.fa-meier.de/lego/traindepot/html/power-functions.html They are really nice. There is also a new station coming out. Tell me your thoughts on these new items. Quote

LegoSjaak Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Strange why those nose-pieces are not pushed thoroughly on the base...... Quote
LegoSjaak Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 We already know this for a long time..see topic: Trains in summer 2014 Quote

[url= [/media[/url]] did i hear her say expansion pack to create a larger system? I do think she referring to track expansion rather than train expansion. Quote
Duq Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Strange why those nose-pieces are not pushed thoroughly on the base...... Yeah, that makes me wonder how well those lumps actually fit... Quote
LegoSjaak Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Yeah, that makes me wonder how well those lumps actually fit... Maybe it comes off easy, to act like a sort of crash-energy-sucker.... Like some cars... a lot of stuff comes off and takes the energy from a crash away to prevent the driver from injury....haha... Quote
Captain America Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 ^ I think they just simply weren't pushed down properly that's all. There are a lot of inconsistencies at the New York Toy Fair, like how Metalbeards Sea Cows back sails were on backwards. Quote

rriggs Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Disappointed by the trains. The cargo train is too American and i don't like the large single piece ends on the passenger train. I do like the station though as long as the price isn't too daft. Cheers Rog Quote
Boettner Builds Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I have yet to get into LEGO trains, though I've been wanting to. The cargo train looks like a pretty nice place to start Quote
gunm Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Me too...no Lego trains yet, but I'm thinking about high speed passenger train with the train station add-on. Storage/display space is the main reason I've avoided trains in the past... Quote
grymg Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Say if these trains release June 1st, then will Lego start discounting the current 7938 and 7939 sets? I'd like to grab another Passenger Train for the middle coaches. But only if the set was like 30-50% off. Quote

JopieK Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 the lady says that trains haven't been there for some years and are now reintroduced?! that is strange isn't it?! Quote
Captain America Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 She said that the LEGO CITY trains haven't been introduced in a few years as a current retailer line, simply stating that it has been a few years since trains have been available as an actual line, rather than expert series or exclusives :) Quote
