Hobbes Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Wooohaaa!Yoda *yoda* , take a look at this: You know, looking at the sets arranged like that, it's quite a nice collection. Haven't seen that a varied and colorful picture of LEGO City sets in a long time... Quote
jonwil Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 The down sloping window is not a new part, I own one myself. Peeron calls it "Boat Window 2 x 8 x 2" Quote
Hobbes Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Alright, time to comment on the set: For someone just starting with City it's a terrific set. The ship looks just like a freighter should, the crane has the typical harbor look, and the fisherman and the little office add nice details. I just don't like the road pieces they used for the pier. It doesn't look like a cargo pier that has to be able to support lots of containers and heavy trucks. It looks more like some sort of "pontoon". I liked the old bases with 6541 and 6542 better. Talking about heavy cargo, the truck is just too "cute". That's not what a cargo hauler looks like. In a cargo harbor I expect to see semis. 1552 is even a 6-wide model that would fit this harbor. There's also something about the structure in the back of the crane house that I don't like compared to the crane in 6541, can't put my finger on it... looks... too "constructed" somehow... And after people already complained with 10170 we get new containers again. Being 6-wide now they can at least be considered something completely new and not just inconsistently redesigned. Still, a great new set to the revamped City line. *y* Great review yoda, always good to see some decent set photography *sweet* Quote
jngunsw Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 thx for the review ^^ this is a much improved version of seaport.... the ship is bigger... it can float.... the crane is more realistic...... the only thing is .... there should be more cargos.... n the port perhaps should be a bit longer for the ship Quote
Axle Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (edited) Wow, great review, I might think twice about getting my cement mixer and garbage truck now, Anyway, look what TLC did on this page!(click ANGRY face)>:-(here The kid who buys this expects to get 3 ports and 2 boats for 90.00, TLC had better fix that pic mistake, or there'll be a lot of complaints! :-/ I might get this still though. WesternOutlaw Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I've frontpaged the Harbour sub-theme set reviews. Will do the other reviews spaced out over the new few days. Why is it that some image reviews are posted on the main page, while others are not? Just curious? Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Why is it that some image reviews are posted on the main page, while others are not? Just curious? I guess Master *yoda* must have used the force to convince our piratey friend..! >:-) X-D Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I just purchased this set over the weekend and finished building it. This is a great review of a great set. I love the ship, the dock/harbor, the crane, and the truck. The figs are excellent and the set comes with all of the accessories needed. This truly reminds me a lot of classic city, just bigger and better. *y* *y* Quote
