Comrade Commander Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) Ooc: ah ok. I had misinterpreted the rule and read it slightly differently. Since I had attacked C, I thought the next two would move to the top of the list and thus frostbarb and worm a. Thanks for the clarification! The free hit makes sense too as I was already accounting for that even with the triple shot, just didn't see it my first look through Edited April 18, 2014 by Comrade Commander Quote

Comrade Commander Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Darksten eyes the silent knight, and then the dwindling pantry supplies. His mind racing to formulate a plan "Tell me Worm, what more do you have reign over? We already defeated the other worms, and thus I sense your remaining control is very limited. Your story of the ants clearly indicates that there are different factions at play here, so it might be better for us to make an example of you. Besides, where would you go off to? You too can see that there is not much food left here. It would be counter-productive for us to let you go, only for you to set up shop in the next hovel over." Quote

Now, as the end of the battle nears, you only look for ways to escape and feed your own gluttony. You have fought well, but a true leader would ration themselves, look after their followers, and admit defeat when it stares them in the face" Darksten says as he loads an arrow and points it at the white worm. I can't believe we defended that pantry of rotten food, just to fulfill some asinine woman's request. I should've just torched in the beginning and we could've slaughtered Frostbarb and his goons easily. You haven't heard the story behind Isaac Flee and those three hovellers, have you?" Comrade Commander Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Darksten looks at the slaughtered worms, and then begins moving about the kitchen collecting the loot. He hands Crowley 15 gold, and 1x Grand Potion "You best be holding onto these in the event we need to use them in a hurry later" He looks over at Hoang Anh, the young knight was standing quietly in the corner. It appeared to Darksten that the kid was taking this adventure hard. These must have been the first kills for his virgin blade. Darksten was also sure that the worm's icy sleep had left a mark Hoang had yet to fully recover from. "I do not want him to have a sharper sword with which he could hurt himself" Darksten thinks "and he is already equipped with enough potions. So I might as well keep hold of these for the time being, and see how he feels later" He then turns to back to Crowley as the Cleric begins to speak "I am not too familiar with the situation here, I simply showed up where Heroica sent me. What more do you know? Perhaps we could take a breather for a minute and you can explain as you heal Hoang Anh's wounds" Quote
Endgame Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Crowley begins to tend to the knight's wounds. "Most people are born, or forced, or taxed into the hovels. They didn't do anything to deserve it. But the people we met? Those outside, thinking that they can make demands of us? They made so many mistakes, some deliberately. Their poor judgement landed them in the Hovels. And from what little I've spoken to them, they speak as if they are still entitled. Most people are in here because they never had a chance at the good life. Those people? They had so many chances at living the life most of these people never had, and blew it. Isaac? Got fired because of embezzlement, and blew the rest of his money. Gary and Fiona? Ruined their marriage, lost their jobs, and got here. All of these things they so readily shared with me, as if their former statuses give them some entitlement. They make me sick." Edited April 23, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 "Hmm, I am all for second chances, but one needs to be humble enough to admit when they have made mistakes. People should always be working to improve themselves, as well as the people around them. Hopefully they see that soon..." Darksten can't help but think at the same time.. "I hope they still plan on paying for this expedition..." But then he asks... "What made you stay around after you found all this out?" Quote
Endgame Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 "What made you stay around after you found all this out?" "Obligation. More than two dozen people need to use this shelter tonight - it just so happens that some of them have chosen to use their wealth to make foolish requests on their own." Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 "Your a good man Crowley." You will not be receiving loot or experience from the battle due to your excessive absence as well as your lack of reading of the quest. However, since this is your first quest, i'm qilling to grant you one more chance. When we were last in here we "went to the right" which is a door off screen I assume. Since we came in here from the kitchen, I believe we came in from the ground floor door on the left.
