Endgame Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 <Presumably he was born our size... His gluttony probably helped him along, yeah.> Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 "I see. But he came here the size of two humans? And refresh me again on how long he has been here for?" Quote
hoanganhbeo Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) Wow! Imagine how huge Kos is! Is Kos an insect? Edited April 29, 2014 by hoanganhbeo Quote
Endgame Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 <He's a spider, so I guess he technically he's an arachnid, but yeah, I guess...> Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Darksten had run out of questions to ask, and the bugs had clearly hit the end of their knowledge. It pained him slightly to have to extinguish them since they had helped him, but in his ranking of living things, bugs fell at the very bottom. "Thank you very much for your assistance today. I wish you best of luck in your next adventure" With that, Darksten signaled to his companions for everyone to squish the tiny insects Quote
Endgame Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 The rest of the bugs are crushed flat, hollering cries of betrayal as Darksten crushes them without second thought. 10/13 bugs crushed! "...That was a little cold, don't you think? Anyway, where to next?" Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 "Yeah, not what I would have preferred. However, they are making life for a human unbearable so had to be dealt with." Darksten says, pausing to reflect on his contract with the little girl "Let's head back to the foyer, and then take the door to the right, to head back to the room with stairs and crates" Quote
Endgame Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 The party continues to backtrack over old ground, going back to the room with the stairs. They stomp down the stairs and turn right, going into an old anteroom. Where will the party do? Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Darksten looks over the room and sees nothing has changed. "Give me a hand in moving these boxes so we can get through the door and see what is on the other side." Quote
Endgame Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 The party pushes aside the crates, the boxes shoved across the room. The party throws open the door, stepping inside. Wood is piled against the wall of the dim room, not a single source of light inside - only the light from the previous room leaking in. "Huh, a wood stockhold, by the looks of it. I still got some matches, if you want to roast chestnuts over an open fire." The Syndicate peon jokes. Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 "The way this place is built, I feel one wrong move and everyone would be left out in the cold...with frost nipping at their nose... However, your storch does have a controlled flame on it, so if you don't mind bringinging in further so we can see a little better. Would be appreciated..." Quote
Endgame Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 "Here. Careufl not to storch -- err, torch -- anything." Crowley passes Darksten his weapon. Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 "Oh, thanks, I will be quick" Darksten says, surprised by the offered weapon. He takes it and holds it close (but not too close) and slowly circles the room looking for any bugs or other items thrown about Quote
Endgame Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 The room is fairly barren, besides the wood piled up haphazardly. Soft chittering can be heard... <Do you think he can get us?> <No way. Like he'd ever risk torching the entire woodstock. He'd have to be a detective to figure out which logs we're holed up in.> Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 "Hmpf" Darksten thinks to himself as he hears the insects whisper. He eyes the logs, counting eight that had to be sorted through. It was fortunate though that they had chosen this room last. With a smile to no one in particular, he hands the Cleric his weapon back "All right gents, here's the plan. 1.) We take these logs and spread them around the room so that none are touching each other. 2.) Hoang Anh, you go grab those papers from the game back in the other room and bring them to me. 3.) Once the knight is back, the knight and I will take the paper, Crowley's matches, and a log each up to the room above and light the fireplace 4.) One at a time we will burn the logs, and any bugs inside will be cooked. 5.) Crowley, you will stay down here with your light and watch to make sure no bugs try to escape" Darksten raises his voice just a little bit, switching to clicks and shakes so the bugs understand "I almost feel bad for the bugs, burning to death is not fun. I would almost prefer to just quickly getting stomped on and having it done and over with quickly" Quote
hoanganhbeo Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) On it! Hoang Anh gets to the last room and takes the paper. Anyway, should we interrogate those nasty bugs or burn them? Edited April 30, 2014 by hoanganhbeo Quote
Endgame Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) The bugs chitter in fear as Hoang and Darksten cooperate to move the logs. <You blasted pyro... P-please, spare us! Or atleast let us submit to a stomping!> It seems the party now had a choice - stamp out the bugs, or burn them for the wrongs of their kind? Edited April 30, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Comrade Commander Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 "I can't think of anything useful we could get from interrogating them. So unless anyone can think of anything, I am for sparing them the suffering and just stomping on them" Quote
hoanganhbeo Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 "Right! Let's just stomp on them. Burning this place down might kill all of us! " Quote
Endgame Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 The bugs skitter out of their hiding places, not wanting to face the flames of punishment. Armed with all the information they need, the party stomps out the bugs. 12/13 bugs crushed! "Unless you have anywhere else you want to go, we may want to head to the basement." Quote
Endgame Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) The party, most of the bugs crushed but the gargantuan Kos still lingering in their memory, step out of the wood storage. Tired after their long day, they knew only their strongest foe remained. They returned to the foyer, and ducked under the gap in the stiars. Finding a hatch, they throw it open, and descend into the basement... The basement was damp and the air oppresive, some moldy pottery stacked haphazardly in the corner. Water drips in, mildew and fungus growing from every corner and edge of the dismal room. A door awaits the heroes, Kos likely waiting behind it... Darksten can hear a voice from beyond the door. <So Frostbarb is soundly defeated, then?> <Yessir. Crushed, flattened, disposed of-> <Sir? SIR? You think a being such as myself is going to accept such a puny title? You insult me. Perhaps I should gobble you up, just like your former leader...> <Y-Yessi - yes, master. F-Frostbarb is dead.> <Oh ho ho. Excellent. Marvelous, even. That subzero prick will no longer be a thorn in my side!> Edited May 2, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Comrade Commander Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 "Alright gents, let's get ready then. Hoang Anh, you watch the door. I will cover you. Crowley, could you search those pots please. Any last thoughts?" Quote
Endgame Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Crowley searches the pottery... even behind the mask, his face begins to contort into a face of disgust. "Gah! Some of these are... Urgh... Chamber pots..." Some bugs fall out of the last pot, tiny maggots skittering around frantically. Crowley stomps them out, clearing out all of the small bugs in the shelter! 13/13 Small Bugs Killed! Full Extermination! "Only Kos remains now. Shall we head inside?" Quote
Comrade Commander Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 "Haha, sorry mate. Let's go crush that last bug so we can go home and wash away all this grime." Quote
