Zeon Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Hello there! I always felt that the Exo-Force theme is "somewhat" geneder-biased. Since the gender equality is quite a hot topic on Lego terms, I decided to top my "manly" exo-force collection with... The Girls Of EXO-FORCE I started up with three ladies to strengthen the human side: Rabid Mole MKII, tunneling behind the enemy lines: I always imagined her emerging from the ground and yelling the famous Dexter series-quote: Surprise, ******* ! One with the pilot: Desert Cobra (or fox, I couldn't really decide) wielding four giant laser cannons, for it's that practical to use lasers in the heat of the desert :P with the pilot showing: And my favourite, the commander piloting the Pink Artemis: When the rockets fail and the enemy gets close: and the pilot: please don't flame me for not knowing the lore behind the Exo-Force, for you would be right. However, I think they look quite good and Exo-Force-ish. Keep on, ... build with your bricks :) Quote
Darkdragon Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I like the builds a lot, they seem to fit each girl very well. Can you crop the image of the figures so we can see them larger? Can't see much at that size. Quote
MKJoshA Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I think this is a great idea. I'm a huge fan of the exo-force line and these are good additions. Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 VERY lovely battle mechs. My favorite is also the Pink Atemis, followed very closely by the Rabid Mole (it's just so sleek and deadly looking). Quote

Corydoras Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 The mechas look nice, but they don't quite "fit" into the Exo-Force theme. Why? The human side mechas are, as far as I remember, almost exclusively humanoid. The machines you have presented seem more suitable for the robots and their slightly alien technology - their mechas spot many different (not humanoid) designs, often resemble various predators and other animals, have back-bent knee joints and the like. Hello! I guess you are right, but let me make some excuses. First, as the Mechwarriors mechas have evolved into a wide variety of mechs, each suitable for a different combat style (yet, piloted by humans), I could see a 3. wave of Exo-Force mechas (not THAT far from the Chameleon Hunter from the Deep Jungle that have evolved into a kind of mechs, that could run faster, yet resemble humans a bit less. I'm more worried about the extra 20-30 pieces that these have over the 180-200 of the official sets. It mostly shows on the sides and backs. I'm not saying you aren't right, just sharing my toughts :) Thanks for the viewpoint! Quote
Clone OPatra Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I too was struck looking at these that besides for the last one, they don't give off an overtly Exo-Force vibe. They are really nice mechs, don't get me wrong, but the first two don't feel very Exo-Force-y. I think the last one works best within Exo-Force because it has brighter colors and has weapon-hands. The ridiculously huge machine gun is a total Exo-Force thing. The others definitely seem like they'd be on the robot side due to lack of arms and hands, if they were to fit the theme at all. Quote

Ok, I give it up, there must be something in it :) Here is the Pink Artemis in upright position: for the others, it doesn't work so well, maybe I'll end up robo-forming them and making a humanlike counterpart for the girls :) thanks for the opinions! woofmcmoose Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Superb looking mechs. Whilst I can see why the comments of 'not strictly exo-force' are being made, my first exo-force MOCs were also chicken walking, many barrelled machine gun toting mecha, and I don't see the particular in-universe problem. Then again I got into exo-force because it was the closest thing to Mechwarrior/Battletech Lego would ever get and your designs would certainly fit in there. My only suggestions are actually for the figs: the lady in black could really use a Mk1 Blacktron torso, to make her a little less featureless, and your mohawk'd lady still has a white fringe, not that I wan't to argue the point wit a girl with so many rockets!! Im a brickmaster. Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Cool mechs! I don't mind the chicken style legs. Technically speaking, it's a more effiecent, better balanced way to mobilize a mech walker. I really like your designs, vary complete and clean. Not to mention some sick looking weapons! Why can't I build stuff like this!! Quote
TheOrcKing Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Nice mechs. They each certainly have more of a Mechwarrior feel to them especially the Desert Fox; not like that is a bad thing. I think the reverse-joint legs work well with these designs or most mechs even. Sometimes it seems weird when they just stand straight up like a regular human. Zeon Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 Thank you for the comments. I was thinking about the signature feature of the human mechs, while looking at my collection and (apart from the obvious let it look like a human) I starting to think it's the this waistline + two weapons on arms. Maybe I'll start to design a lavender mech along those lines :) Quote
LegoMathijs Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Cool mechs! They are all very nice, my favorite is the pink one:D Quote
