jorgeopesi Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) A small Caterpillar Challenger with just 4 functions, towing hitch, hood and tracks (left and right ) . Edited April 2, 2014 by jorgeopesi Images way too big. Changed to links. Quote
unimog123 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Well done! I think someone has found an interest in small MOCs. Quote
Milan Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 With what gears those tracks can be driven? Only with those big yellow, blue and red ones? Quote
jorgeopesi Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) With what gears those tracks can be driven? Only with those big yellow, blue and red ones? Of course, it only has 2 M motors, 2x worm gears, 2x 8th gears and 2x 21th yellow gears (functional), the rest of them hold the tracks. Edited March 24, 2014 by jorgeopesi Quote

Sorry, I meant: The tracks itself - can they be driven with some other gears (24T, 16T) instead of the 21T yellow gear you used in MOC? Quote

Milan Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I guess, judging by the space between track links, that only big yellow 21T gear could operate them, and probably medium Blue and small Red one (old type, they are not producing any more) Quote
Doc_Brown Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 This is so sweet. So tiny and innovative. Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Good work, love the tracks and the compactness. Quote
zux Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Wow, that size and smart thinking. I wonder how did you fit your motors. Any chance of a bottom picture? Quote

DrJB Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Beautiful machine. I operated one few years ago and was curious to replicate the track/drive system. Though, the one I operated was made by AGCO, and used a CAT engine. Not sure CAT have their own model ... as CAT does very little agricultural machines, they're primarily into construction/mining. Beautiful work. Quote

legosamigos Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I am very surprised that in such a small tractor, you put bbox, 2 M motors nad IR receiver Quote
jorgeopesi Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Milan a video for you, tracks work fine with other gears too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uqK3LCBW5o&feature=youtu.be Edited March 25, 2014 by jorgeopesi Quote
Milan Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Their usability has greatly improved now! What is the length of the rigid hose in the tracks? Quote
jorgeopesi Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 Their usability has greatly improved now! What is the length of the rigid hose in the tracks? But you have to find the perfect tension and I don´t know if it will work under more weight, I have to do more tests. I bought hundreds of the large ones 2 years ago and I cut them what I need, this way I can build for example a pisten bully with the large hoses. Quote
Anathaema Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 ha, very nice little moc, would love to see more of these "mini" type of mocs Quote
jorgeopesi Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 And another track type, Mahjqa style with 3 studs wide, crazy for tracks I know . Thank you again for all comments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kfmG4nZeOA&feature=youtu.be Quote
