Holodoc Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 This is one of the really amazing things to be found on the internet. Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories (sic! :-D ) build a three-dimensional (what they call) fabricator. It Quote
dunamis Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I've been up at Microsoft HQ in Seattle a number of times and they are showcasing this in their "Future Home of Tomorrow". Their idea is that everyone would have one of these 3D printers on their desktop. If you ever broke something (i.e. a child's toy, battery cover for your cordless phone, etc.) you could go to the manufacturer's website and download the "image" of the broken item and just "print" a replacement. Fascinating stuff. Microsoft seems to think this will be mainstream within the next 5-10 years. Quote
