I see a decline in general activity in the forum. Is there something wrong?

... been wondering that same thing. Let us know if you need anything!

It has been quiet indeed, I'll try to stirr up everyone...including myself :pir-grin: .

Now, where's that Martini icon when you need it... hmm, but then that would need to be 'shaken, not stirred!'... I'm drifting off.

Bottom line: Yeah! Go Sebeus!

So I am quite new here(this is actually my first post). I have been lurking around these fora for a long time! And I never got around to posting any of my MOC's(mostly small stuff) because I never got truly motivated to build and keep building.

This idea however seems like a such a great way to motivate people to build and give them a narative and direction! I would totally support this as an active participator. Reading through the topics of GoH I was amazed with the amount of content they came up with, and some super innovative building. I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to building MOC's and this seems like a great way to learn it. Are there any preperations or discussions underway as to how this will take shape?

Welcome, BossFight! Great to see a long time lurker step into action, hope to see some of your MOCs soon. The GoH truly is a magnificent creation, if a Pirate equivalent could inspire and attract builders here remotely the way the GoH did with castle fans, that'd be a major win! I hope the Pirate community is up for the challenge. Oh, there's a couple of active members doing the planning on the whole thing in a private subforum. But unfortunately no news lately.

I think it might be the fall. Everyone is gone back to school and work. Maybe when the new pirate sets are released there'll be more activity.

Maybe you are right, work/school getting in the way surely is a reason for delay. However, I do hope for this project to start sooner. We don't need a new Pirate line for this to start. What we need is dedication. And after all, GoH's members are churning out MOCs no matter the season.

Thanks you! I have just finished organizing and sorting my humble collection of lego, so I will start building soon.

I truly hope they will be able and willing to create something along the same lines as GoH at it's humble beginnings at least. And then it would be up to the builders to create something amazing. There is so much potential in the Pirate theme because of the double emphasis on landbased- and ship(and the combination of both) MOC's.

Welcome BossFight!

Very true - and you can add a lot of action.

And you can take it more seriously (building decent, historically accurate models) or build some funny things with monkeys, etc.

We have been lucky to see all of this in the MOC forum.

Exactly, and not to forget the entire age of discovery offers so much building-, story-, adventure-potential... both historical and fictional. Yeah, and of course all the 'monkey-business' that needs to be dealt with... pirate_wink.gif

I've been watching this thread for while as well (guess that makes a lurker), and I am also curious if this will ever materialize.

I'd also like to know why it was titled "guilds of" rather than "fleets of"; the latter seems more appropriate imho.

I quess because not all parties included have an emphasis towards seafare. Islanders for instance wouldn't have "fleets" of anything other than crocodiles maybe.pirate_wink.gif

I am so looking forwards to this and I have wrapped up my old pirates and bluecoat minifigs from the storage. Also ordered some new stuff from BL and looking forwards to the new update bluecoats we get next year. pirate_devg1.gif

I would prefer a world without "real existing" or ever "real existing" nations. Call them Bluecoats or Redcoats ore Oranjerots but not dutch, english, french ect. The same thing are races and religions. Such thing should not be part of Lego. (I hate therefore fleshy figs).

With yellow heads the islander have the same race (one which never real exist) like the soldiers and pirates there is than no racism. Nobody has a "real existing" religion and everything is good.

Well we started conversing again yesterday.

This is the way we have generally moved. We have reds, blues, greens, and pirates, but they all have a made up country name.

Not sure if we can get away with banning fleshies, there may not be enough people on either side of that debate to sustain such a project.

Well... the whole pirate section is not doing too well at the moment.

I hope that traction will pick up once the new pirate wave has arrived.

Here is to hoping.

Very good to hear this.

I'd move that torsos that show pink flesh(like a majority of the ones from PotC), are allowed, but headpieces and hands(unless the builder's purism prevents them from switching out hands) should only be yellow.

Of course, if we wanted a reason why we have fleshies, Zonians are portrayed in the Jim Spaceborn comics as being light-skinned, not yellow - we could have GotBS set on Zonia pre-Industrial Revolution...

Yellows vs. Fleshies seems to be an issue of minor concern here. The big question is how to get the Pirates forum running in general again.
