DuckBricks Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Hi everyone! My name is legozebra and I hail from Seattle, home of the year-round convention BrickCon! I am very excited to be a member of Eurobricks and I have been following your site for several months now. During vacations from work I usually go to Portland, Oregon to visit Bricks and Minifigs, an awesome store that sells discontinued/retired LEGO sets, parts, and minifigures! I have been to every single Legoland except the one in Florida and host an entire basement jam-packed full of LEGO sets. Favorite themes? I'd say Blacktron (I guess space in general), Bionicle, Chima, and Ninjago (Mainly because of the complex storylines), and I dabble in some Technic. I currently own 2 Mindstorm NXT 1.0 kits, a Mindstorms NXT 2.0 kit, and the EV3 kit. I am very interested in the Reviewer's Academy, and have already applied! Just some facts about me, and thank you for welcoming me into this community! -legozebra PS -- And don't forget that (to quote Mark Stafford) "Only sheeps say legos!" Quote
Ridge Montante Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Welcome to Eurobricks. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here. And this Bricks and MInifigs store sounds amazing. Wish there was something like that around where I live. Quote
DuckBricks Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 @Ridge Montante Thanks! Yes, this store is truly very cool! Best of all, their bionicles are all only $5! Here's their site: http://bricksandminifigs.com/ And yes, they use "Legos" (with the dreaded "S!") but they sell enough stuff to make me forgive them. For now. :) @lego3364 and Leo Crimson Thanks for the warm welcome guys (and gals)! Quote
rob-cubed Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Welcome from the east coast! I'll watch my grammar around you. Question: is LEGO a noun, a verb, or both? :) I figure if I can "Google" something then I can "LEGO" a building later tonight, right? Quote
VBBN Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Welcome to the forums, I look forward to seeing you around the action figure forum and seeing what you bring to the reviewers academy! VBBN Quote
DuckBricks Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Welcome to the forums, I look forward to seeing you around the action figure forum and seeing what you bring to the reviewers academy! VBBN Thanks VBBN! I'm really excited to start the Reviewers Academy! Since I am new, could you help direct me to the place where I should post my 3 sets to review and post the reviews? Is it just in Reviewer's academy or somewhere else, and do I make a new post for them? Thanks! legozebra Question: is LEGO a noun, a verb, or both? :) I figure if I can "Google" something then I can "LEGO" a building later tonight, right? Technically, LEGO is a noun. The more correct form is "LEGO bricks" or "LEGO sets," but if you just want to say the plural of "LEGO", it is incorrect to say "Legos..." To my understanding, you can't "LEGO" something as it isn't verb, but I have heard people use "Lego-fy" as slang, in which case it would be a verb... Hope this helps! Here's a link to a rather old Brick Blogger article with a section on it... http://thebrickblogg...does-it-matter/ Thanks, legozebra Edited March 28, 2014 by legozebra Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Welcome to EB! I'm also super jealous about this Bricks and Minifigs store you visit... Quote
VBBN Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Thanks VBBN! I'm really excited to start the Reviewers Academy! Since I am new, could you help direct me to the place where I should post my 3 sets to review and post the reviews? Is it just in Reviewer's academy or somewhere else, and do I make a new post for them? Thanks! legozebra I see you've already found the Reviewer's Academy, and yes you'll make a new post in that forum for each new review. (Remember only to post your first review, don't post your second one until he first one has passed.) If you have any further questions about the RA then feel free to ask them in the Read Me First thread! VBBN Quote
