Here is my entry for the JFAIR topic. A motorized flying saucer inspired by 1950's B-movies.

First, a video done in "shaky amateur style"

Since LEGO-builds don't really fly, I added wheels so to make the UFO zoom crawl across the floor. The final build features a base unit with battery box, XL motor driving two axles, with differentials, a servo motor for two axle steering, an XL motor to rotate the saucer, and two IR receivers. The saucer section has a battery box, an IR receiver, and lots of PF lights. Two IR transmitters are used as well.

Features a manually operated ramp to allow aliens and resident robots to exit and invade the earth (Klaatu barada niktu anyone?):

Thank you all for the nice comments, it is appreciated since it comes from this august group of builders!

Lol! Original)

To be honest, see the UFO work with some mechanisms and PF made with Technic pieces at first time.

Cool, reminds me of an old TV Series called "Les Envahisseurs" (The Invaders) with David Vincent ... this was over 40 years ago.
