exxtrooper Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I might actually consider getting one cause of the very low prize just to have one on display. If he's like me he opens up both the Mixels thread and The HF thread at the same time. Being that so many of the people form one thread comment on the other, it's really, really, REALLY easy to get confused on which on is which, especially if you don't pay attention to the title. Easy mistake to make, and in no way a troll. If it were completely unrelated to a Constraction figure set, or an "1n ma1 0n1st 0pn10n," then yes, it would have been a troll. Back on topic. I find myself needing to buy a collection of three every time I see the Mixels on the shelves (only have the Infernites at the moment), but I'm in dire need to save my money for a Lego convention this weekend. Money constraints... Exactly this, It was meant to be in the latest figure buy topic rather than this. I'd be quite impressed by my own determination if i had the patience to be a semi-active member for 5 years just to make a irrelevant post in a topic in order to throw people off. Quote
DraikNova Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Vulk has eight parts with balls/ball cups, but two of them (http://brickset.com/parts/6051038) are not actually new, if that has any bearing on your decision. If you're specifically seeking the brand-new joint styles, Zorch and Seismo each have six. But if you want to get the most new joint pieces for your money, you're probably better off getting some of the Legend Beasts from Legends of Chima, which are twice the price of a Mixel. The Wolf Legend Beast and Lion Legend Beast each have eighteen of the new joint pieces, the Crocodile Legend Beast has ten, and the Eagle and Gorilla Legend Beasts each have eight. The Eagle Legend Beast is the only set to date which includes all four new joint molds. Thanks Aanchir! Guess I'll probably be picking up the Wolf Legend Beast (which I was thinking about anyway, even though I used to think that, in terms of joints/euro, it was more expensive) and Zorch! Wait, aren't the Legend Beasts ten bucks apiece? Quote
Aanchir Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) Thanks Aanchir! Guess I'll probably be picking up the Wolf Legend Beast (which I was thinking about anyway, even though I used to think that, in terms of joints/euro, it was more expensive) and Zorch! Wait, aren't the Legend Beasts ten bucks apiece? Yep. And the Mixels are five bucks apiece. So for the price of two mixels (which gets you a maximum of 16 joint piecess if you buy two of Vulk, or 14 if you buy Vulk and Seismo or Zorch) you could get 18 of the new joints with the Lion or Wolf Legend Beast. DraikNova Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) I've seen Mixels go for 3 or 4 bucks, actually, so, depending on where you live, they may be just as expensive. Edited March 7, 2014 by DraikNova Quote
Aanchir Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I've seen Mixels go for 3 or 4 bucks, actually, so, depending on where you live, they may be just as expensive. Either you're mistaken or you're very, very lucky. RRP for the sets in the United States is $4.99. Unless retailers have some way at getting them for half price, a store selling them at $3 would be selling them at a loss for sure. To use an analogy, it'd be as though those same stores were selling the Legend Beasts as $6 apiece. And actually, at Toys 'R' Us in particular, the Legend Beasts sell for RRP and the Mixels sell for 50 cents ABOVE RRP. Buying the sets at RRP, there's no way that you could get as many ball joints from two Mixels as from the Wolf or Lion Legend Beast. At least, not until Series 3 comes out. In Series 3, Hoogi has ten ball and ball cup pieces, so if you bought both Hoogi and either Footi, Glomp, or Tentro you would end up with exactly 18 joint pieces for a single cent less than a Legend Beast. Not all of those would be the new joint pieces, of course, but they'd all be either ball joints or high-friction ball cups, so functionally you'd have the same possibilities as far as articulation is concerned. Takanuinuva Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Went to the Lego Store in Edmonton. Got Flain, Schuff and Zaptor. All 3 are adorable. I especially like Schuff the most. Also I made a mix of Schuff and Zaptor. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/Mixels/shuff_zaptor_mix.jpg Quote
DraikNova Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I saw them for 4 at the LEGO store, and the price another store's site gave was 3, although that already seemed dubious to me. Quote

CM4Sci Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 I got Flain, Zaptor, and Krader today. I absolutely love them! -Sci Quote
Legodude31 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I got Shuff and Vulk the other day and... these guys are AWESOME! They are smaller than the bags suggest though. These guys have so any combination possibilities! Shuff is my favorite of the 2. I created a mech for the nixel that came with Vulk. I've also created a new combination thing. (You know like mix, max, and murps.) I call it a Durp. It's when two or more mixels combine and become incredibly stupid and well, derpy! I hope to pick up volectro soon. Of the upcoming tribes, the Flexers are my favorites. That is just such a creative idea! Good job LEGO Group, good job. I know this sounds kinda dumb, but how do you upload pictures? Quote

I know this sounds kinda dumb, but how do you upload pictures? first, put your pictures in a image hosting sites, such as brickshelf or flickr. then copy your image url on that site. after that, click "picture" button (you can find it under "smiley" button). paste your url there, and then click ok. remember, what you have to copy is your picture's url, not url of the page that your picture is on. Even easier tip: after it's on the image hosting site, just copy the image itself and paste it here. You don't need to do the URL stuff. After my three Mixels I have, I'm not sure which to get next. I'm thinking one with a Nixel in it. Quote

GandalfofHoth Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I haven't really got into any action figure theme since they got rid of Bionicle(well actually since they started Glatorian line), but I love Shuff, and Krader, and at five dollars a piece, I'll definitely get them. Quote

bacem Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The sets are so cool, but the show is so awful. Licensed themes are the worst. the show have no story, and makes no sense. but that's the whole point of it. it's so pintless, it's hillarious and crazy. and the set itself is cute, and also great as parts pack. Lyichir Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The sets are so cool, but the show is so awful. Licensed themes are the worst. I don't think this counts as a traditional licensed theme. Like Galidor, the TV show is co-developed by Lego (with the character designs being based on the sets in this case, rather than the other way around). Quote
PenPlays Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The sets are so cool, but the show is so awful. Licensed themes are the worst. I have two under-seven-year-old siblings that would say otherwise. They are the target audience for sure. Although, I even chuckle every now and then while watching them. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I'm just dying to get one of these. I was hoping to get one at the Lego Store (Cardiff) when I went on March 1st, but there were none there, nor in Tesco's on Sunday. Quote

vexorian Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I like many shows that make no sense. The show is unfunny and derivative on top of not making sense. Quote
