The images of the sets are now in LEGO's image cache... they should be up on S@H soon!

Oh yeah, and the box looks really nice.

I wonder if the Nixels will be included in random Mixel sets or if they only come with certain Mixels. I want to get one of each Mixel tribe member. But I also want to try to get all the Nixels. So if the Nixels are included randomly then I will just get my favorite Mixel of each tribe.

Nixels ? No idea what that is.

According to the catalogs and the product descriptions on the Toys 'R' Us site, they're the antagonists in the Mixels cartoon.

If blue Mixels do end up being the ice tribe, then maybe orange Mixels are water/aquatic. From the images I've seen of them they looked like they're having a lobster theme going on.

That'd be an interesting take on the whole "color coded elements" thing. With water being orange and all. I mean, lots of coral and other sea creatures are orange. But, what would brown be? Probably sand or rock, like BIONICLE.

The Mixels site is live! It has information and pictures of the Nixels (sadly, no info on availability), an explanation of what Mix, Max, and Murp mean, and building instructions for all the series 1 Mixels plus several Mixes, Maxes, and Murps. In the back of each set's instruction booklet is a chart with finalized pictures (albeit small ones) of all 27 Mixels!

From the instructions it looks like one Mixel per series comes with a Nixel.

Yep, you are correct! One Nixel comes with each three-Mixel tribe. In the first series, 41501 Vulk, 41503 Krader, and 41506 Teslo come with Nixels. Kind of an odd distribution scheme.

The sets are also now on shop.LEGO.com, with a price of $4.99 and a slated release date of February 17! Their piece counts range from 45 (41502 Zorch) to 70 (41508 Volectro).

EDIT: There's also another Mixels website with flash-based cartoon graphics and a Cartoon Network micro-site with some more Mixels video clips.

This Mixels thing is awesome-looking. Also, I played the game and got 567800. The Nixels are so cute! Excited for this theme, I can tell it will be great.

That's great news. According to the German catalogue, the Mixels were supposed to be released in march... I hope that means they'll be released here soon too.

Must have mustache critters. Series 2 is my fave so far, but all the figures are pretty sweet. Also, minifig heads as eye pieces, those should come in handy.

So awesome! Incidentally, before I saw the photos from Spieletest, I didn't realize that the upward-facing tooth pieces from Flain had one tooth larger than the other. I had assumed they were the same size!

These pics also clear up some questions I had about the Series 2 and 3 Mixels, like how Balk's "eyelids" are attached. Turns out that instead of using ball joints for their eyes, Balk, Slumbo, and Mesmo use minifigure heads with eye printing! Yet another fantastic new eyeball piece that opens up fantastic new possibilities — who will be the first one to use that eyeball on an actual minifigure, I wonder?

Kind of funny that the Nixels use the same three designs in each series, but I suppose that suits them, since they are supposed to be opposed to the Mixels' fun and creativity, and since they apparently are swarmlike enemies that rely on strength in numbers.

All these little guys have so much personality! Even that poor Murp. There's so much fun in store for this theme!

That's weird, I recall Shuff having a golden Chi crystal on his head, not the normal crystal.

Heh... That's my next review... It's almost up. I said the same thing.

Next up is Shuff!

What do I think about this dude? Well, he's probably my least favorite of the ones I got. Only interesting things about him in my opinion is that three "tooth"/"spike" piece, the mini-ball joints, and the two fractured wedges. He's really bland and not very articulate. Still, he's a good value for $5 in the United States.
