rob-cubed Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) I was disappointed 70812 didn't have an alternate build like the ice cream machine or plumber's van, so I made one. The thing I'm most proud of is the interior: the bump-out includes a prep sink and the kabob meat is on gears and really rotates by twisting a stud at the rear. The gears don't quite mesh up perfectly because everything had to angle to fit the space, but I couldn't resist trying it. Now Bob needs a truck to pull it around Edited April 1, 2014 by rob-cubed Quote
sithewok Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Looks great! I was also disappointed that this set wasn't a two in one like the other movie sets. Quote
Zed_43 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Great MOC! I was also hopping that the set included the alternate build but not! I was also aiming to built BOBs trailer but I need ti get the set first! What I can tell you is that your version is really good! But I find it's lacking a sign board on the roof! And I find great to have kept the turning mechanism for the meat! So much things into a tiny trailer! Good job! I loog forward to get the lego movie dvd to see more what It really looks like. The only image I can find is this one: http://cache.lego.co...bricksburg2.jpg Edited April 1, 2014 by Zed_43 Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Excellent designing there 'rob-cubed', I like how you have included the mechanics for the vertical roaster......makes the tiger want to do some reverse engineering again himself ! Brick On 'rob-cubed' ! Quote
rob-cubed Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Thanks for the kudos everyone! But I find it's lacking a sign board on the roof! I look forward to get the lego movie dvd to see more what It really looks like. The only image I can find is this one: http://cache.lego.co...bricksburg2.jpg Ah, you are right... I need to apply some signage. The gray shutters are the perfect size for the set's menu stickers but have to figure out something for the roof. I didn't realize there was actually a kabob trailer in the movie... that's awesome! Quote
Clone OPatra Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Great trailer for Bob! It's a very smooth and clean model, which is quite pleasing. I do find that it's a bit too starkly white. Some signage would definitely help with that, or perhaps substituting a more vibrant color for the dark grey line that you have going around it. The shutters also look a bit ugly when closed since the backs of the pieces are exposed, but I can't see how you'd fix that and it's great the the shutters are fully functional. Quote
Zed_43 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I didn't realize there was actually a kabob trailer in the movie... that's awesome! Actually, I'm not sure this image came from the movie... It can come from the video game. I have to investigate this ^^. Does someone know at which moment can we see bob's flying "thing" or his trailer in the movie??? Quote
3BrickFriends Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Looks nice. Clean lines and simple colours. Love the gear mechanism. Quote
meyerc13 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Someone created an LDD version of the Kebab stand from the video game, here's the thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92370 If you want to create the roof top kebab sign that might help. Quote
