Dafgek81 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) Hello People, I have a question, I have seen this wheeled excavator a view year ago on Brickshelf I realy like it. http://www.brickshel...ruction_000.jpg On Brickshelf there is a compete instruction and partslist of this excavator with old electrics and pneumatics. I ain 't an expert builder myself, so I wonder if there is someone out there who wants to pick up the challange to build a PF version of this wonderful machine and create new instructions and a new partslist. I would be thankfull for the effort and would love to buy the insrucions and parts needed to build this new and improved version. I also like the FSB 001, Skid steer loader, also somene up for this challange??? http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/fivestarbrick/FSB001/instruction_00.jpg Greetings, Christian Edited April 5, 2014 by Dafgek81 Quote
Lakop Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 They are both great models. Hopefully one of our more experienced builders can help you. H Quote
zux Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Have you tried emailing author and asking him for such challenge? He might be the one who is interested most. Email is provided on screenshots Quote
Dafgek81 Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 No I did not try that. I've just put it on the forum to see if someone is willing to take up the challenge. And I don't know how to email anyone yet, still trying to find out how everything on the forum works. Quote
GuiliuG Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 It could interest you : http://guiliug.be/mocs/gg001/ ;-) Quote
Dafgek81 Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 Hello Guiliug, I like your mods and PF conversion, but what I would realy like is full PF with IR controlled functions and LA's insted of pneumatics so it does not need any connection with a controller. The switchmod between all wheel syeering and skid steering is very cool. Quote
Blakbird Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 This forum has hunted for the elusive "Five Star Brick" before and he has never been identified or contacted. However, this model (FSB002) has been built and reviewed at SeTechnic (now Techlug). They also reviewed FSB001 and concluded it worked very poorly. That is unfortunate because it was marvelously complex. I built it in LDraw. As GuiliuG mentioned, he has already taken this design and converted it to PF and it works great. I've built it. In my opinion, taking an older model like this and converting it to PF is not necessarily "improving" it. If you want a PF excavator, there are lots of them already out there. I highly recommend the wheeled excavator by GuiliuG which is really a great design. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 Hello Blackbird, Thank fo the info. Like the render of that excavator, but I like the desgn of the FSB 002 better. are there any other excavators you can point at that are good in your oppinion? And a full PF skid steer? Quote
Dafgek81 Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 How big is the 8043 in comparison with the FSB002? The FSB002 is bigger, but can the internals be used to power the upper structure? I know the gears for driving the undercarriage don't have to be used, there needs to be a separate bb and PF system there to power wheels, steering, outriggers and blade. Quote
