"Wally, do you know why they're holding you here? Have they asked you to do anything for them or are they just keeping you here for now?" "Either answer would be equally as disturbing," I mutter to myself.

I thought for sure they could, like, rip it out of my head or something, but I guess they never did 'cuz they had to abduct the entire freaking city first." Jeaux inspects the sphere for any openings or numbers, "Did you see how they manipulated the sphere when they locked you here?" The sphere has lines, showing that it could open. Just how it would, though, was unclear. Around the edges were inscribed numbers, from 1 to 360, in a perfect circle circling it. Sitting at the nine o'clock position was a smaller sphere, smaller and colored brown. It sat on a disk with markings identical to the golden sphere, and at its nine o'clock position sat a small white sphere. The disc which the smaller spheres were on looked to be on a track circling the golden sphere. "I was knocked out when they dragged me in here, sorry. I don't know why I'm up here, though, all the others are down below." Wally nodded at a darkened staircase on one side of the room, that descended downward.

As he did so, the quarters of the golden sphere separated slightly - but not enough to let the chain loose yet. Edited May 15, 2014 by CallMePie

He looked around the room for anything that would indicate the nature of the creatures inhabiting the tower, and a window to see if it was day or night out. "Why do you think they want the Baron so much? Surely they do not need his consent to occupy Zylstra, heheh..."

"I think this thing would shoot down into the sphere if I wasn't, ya'know, stuck here. But the chain is still caught....I think it could open more." Hybros nodded. "It seems you are on the right track, Jeaux." He looks around the room for an exit or pathway. There is a staircase spiralling downward in the side of the room. Hybros thought for a moment. He looked around the room for anything that would indicate the nature of the creatures inhabiting the tower, and a window to see if it was day or night out. "Why do you think they want the Baron so much? Surely they do not need his consent to occupy Zylstra, heheh..." The books in the shelf over the desk were inscribed with elvish runes, and there were no windows to speak of other than the one that led toward Zylstra. If that was any indication, the tower was probably mostly sunken underground. "If they really wanted the town, they could've just stolen the whole damn thing days ago. I think they're after something else. Can't imagine what, though."

I watch Jeaux suspiciously as he spins the wheel, or whatever. "Have you seen the shadowy beings since they caught you? What do they look like to you? If you have, where do they come from? Jeaux started to push the brown sphere in the opposite direction, changing directions if the golden sphere began to close. He continued to push until reaching the number 287

He continued to push until reaching the number 287 The golden sphere did indeed seem to open further. Jeaux could now see the chain was caught under the one of the corners, and could only be removed if the sphere was fully open. Wally gave the small brown sphere a weird look. "I recognize that shape there. That's the High Kingdoms. And there's Moone, and Uland....I think it's supposed to be Olegaia." Edited May 17, 2014 by CallMePie

It's impossible to tell if the sphere or chain was linked into any kind of trap.

Of course, we shall have to close the dome again. We will be back as soon as we have located the others. In an other way though, I am sure Wally could be useful in aiding us with the rescue of the others if we were to free him now." I look questioningly at the rest of the party.

Ask Hybros, I can do stuff, make stuff, fix stuff. I'm also pretty smart - for example, I think these spheres are supposed to represent the sun, Olegaia, and the moon. And I think you forgot those swords..."

Let us continue, whatever you are doing seems to be working, Jeaux. We should not just leave Wally here." Hybros pushes the brown sphere so that it lines up with the 124 mark on it and the 287 mark on the golden sphere.

The white sphere aligns with the mark on the brown sphere, which is aligned with the mark on the golden one, if I was unclear. The golden sphere slid open even further, as the beam of light above brightened as well. Wally tugged at the chain. "Almost got it..."
Palathadric Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 In the order they were picked up, the numbers inscribed were 154, 154; 287, 124; 310, 155; and 82, 45. "What do you think these numbers could mean?" I query.

I don't know of anything significant about the dates, though I am not well versed in the history and culture of the Moon Elves." Jeaux pushed the brown sphere to the 310 mark and the white orb to the 155 mark
