He then takes off the Baron's Epaulets to stretch his shoulders. "Hm, let us see... I think Melvin could sing just as well even with that heavy mirror... Em, why do you not give it to him to carry? That way you could wear that medal of yours." Hybros notices Pretzel pull a shiny gold chain from his cart. The imp lightly grabs it without asking permission, and inspects it in his hands. "What is this?" he inquires. He then looks to Em and Melvin, waiting for them to swap items before getting ready to push forward.

Hybros looks down at the chain, which has wrapped itself around his arm. "What the..." He tries to tug at the chain but it won't budge. There is a strong magic binding the two heroes together. Finally understanding the artifact's power, he grins at Pretzel. "Well well, it looks like we will be working together now, closer than ever before, heheheh... Tell me Monk, how does it feel to be soul-bound to a... demon? Eheheh..."

They groan loudly as they swing outward, to reveal....even more blackness. The heroes exchange unsurprised looks and step forward, but evidently the ground beneath their feet is more fragile than they thought - the aging wood splinters underneath them, and the shoddily built scaffold the room has been built on crumples, sending everyone in a pile down to the cold, sleek marble floor. Immediately in front of them is a large black pedestal, standing at quite a height. The beam of light funnels through the glowing sphere atop of it, a beam of condensed, powerful light firing into a maze of wall-sized mirrors built atop of a series of isolated black stone slabs standing forebodingly several feet above them. The ceiling seems to be composed of the same material of the mirrors, affording the heroes a complete view of the enormous chamber. Everything is silent for a moment as the dust settles. Then, a cacophony of low, wind-like shrieks marks the coming of enemies from three different corridors in front of them. Posco draws his daggers, having jumped the distance of the collapse, each reverberating with the same sharp whistling sound. His short fellows get to their feet quickly as Soryx helps up the heroes. "This is it, heroes. If we are to escape with the citizens alive and end this menace, we must destroy the source of these abominations and open the final door." "That glass orb on the other end of the room-" Wally points at the dull reflection on the ceiling. "-as soon we reach and destroy the picbox, we need to position our spare mirror so that the light hits it. That should open the door, and then we can get to the Doc. Remember the light travels at perfect 90 degree angles." "That's nice and all, but we have to cut through these crazy shits to get to either of them. If that machine just keeps spawning more of them, we might be able to cover more ground if we split up." The solitary beam of light above them provided the only light as the horde of darkness poured forth. PREPARE FOR BATTLE!!! Observation Room Battle 1. In addition to regular battle actions, you may choose to move down a corridor to the next junction between corridors for your turn, ie, moving from one letter to another costs one turn. 2. Rounds for different junctions are run simultaneously, but free hits and the battle order of each junction are separate. Enemies will move between junctions if they do not have a hero present in their junction at the end of the round. Heroes arrive in another junction at the end of the battle order in that junction. 3. Area of effect specials, Shields, and items only affect the enemies in your junction. 4. Interacting with a pedestal accessible to your junction (destroying the picbox or placing the spare mirror) costs one turn. If placing the mirror, the side you are placing it on must be accessible from your current junction. 5. Until the picbox is destroyed, a random enemy will spawn each round in junction Q. (3/6 chance to spawn a Moon Elf Corpse, 2/6 chance to spawn an Imitation Gnome, 1/6 chance to spawn a Shade). 6. The heroes begin in the upper right, and can move to junctions A, B, and C. 7. Heroes bound with the Soul Link Chain cannot be in separate junctions at the same time. 8. When the sphere in the lower left is lit up, the forge door will unlock. At that point, moving to junction P will remove the hero from battle. If all heroes move to junction P and escape, the battle ends victoriously, even if enemies are still alive. He runs past the enemies of Junctions A and D, arriving at Junction I.

Jeaux could see a shade similar to what they had faced when fighting the Baron, Moke, and Turdwing. Jeaux began to whisper into his hand, "Turdwing, see if you can distract some of them.". The small insect took off towards the first imitation and started circling its head, while Jeaux aimed the barrel of his cannon at it.
