CMP Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) The party returns to the administration building to report their findings. Palathadric Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 The Baron's immunity to fire would make him completely immune to the Dual Staff, no? Or will his weakness to light count and balance it out? "Well, it appears we came none to see. Caught these buggers in the act!"
Emjajoas Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Em scowls, glaring holes into the shadows, his hands already reaching for his bow and an arrow. He draws back and fires at Shadowed Moke from the back row. "What manner of..."
CMP Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) The Baron's immunity to fire would make him completely immune to the Dual Staff, no? Or will his weakness to light count and balance it out It would balance out. "What manner of..." "Indeed. This is an unfortunate turn of events.....our acquaintances appear to be under some enchantment or possession. The others, nothing more than copies. That tall one is....something I cannot comprehend. Not demonic. Not quite magical. It is...highly unnatural." Edited April 19, 2014 by CallMePie
Palathadric Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Would the Shade's immunities balance out as well? Or, since he is immune to all five elements, and only weak to the light would he be immune to the weapon entirely? He draws back and fires at Shadowed Moke from the back row. "Why attack Moke? He cannot deal any serious damage. Let him be. Focus your attacks on one of the others. Special: Blackest Night – Shade deals 10 darkness damage 1-6 times plus the jinxed and blinded effect to each hero. They then vanish, avoiding all actions and damage for the remainder of the round. Who is "they"? The heroes? Also you put the Gold Rings and Pauldrons in my inventory instead of Hybros's. "Perhaps we should ignore the Shade and I can eat his Free Hits for breakfast." "Baron, I'm sorry to have to do this, but it's for your own good." So saying, I bring my Heavy Flail down on him from the Back Row.
CMP Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 Would the Shade's immunities balance out as well? Or, since he is immune to all five elements, and only weak to the light would he be immune to the weapon entirely? The Shade is immune to all elements except light, which does normal damage. It's the Shade who vanishes. So the staff would do nothing to it, because it's got a ton of elements other than light in it.
joeshmoe554 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 <"Turdwing, what happened here? Why are you attacking us?"> Jeaux pulled the handcannon from its sling, firing it at Imitation Gnome A from the back row OOC: Will add the battle order once I get actions for Hybros and Soryx (controlled by Palathadric)
Palathadric Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Soryx hands his Darksteel Armour to Pretzel. Soryx Strikes Gnome C from the Front Row. The Shade is immune to all elements except light, which does normal damage. It's the Shade who vanishes. So the staff would do nothing to it, because it's got a ton of elements other than light in it. Good. I thought so. Just wanted to be sure.
JimBee Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 "Hm, well good thing we returned here first, eheh." Hybros drew his Sword of Ancestral Hatred and attacked Gnomes D and E from the front row.

CMP Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) Round One of Rogue Shadows >Jeaux vs Gnome A - Aim (11 damage) >Em vs Gnome B - Deflected Damage (Damage deflected) >Monk Pretzel vs Baron - Critical Hit (37/2 - 10 = 9 damage, Baron fragile) Soryx vs Gnome C - Shield: Marking the Favored (91 x 2 = 182 damage, can Mark Dark or Humanoid) Hybros vs Gnome D - Damage (25 damage) Hybros vs Gnome E - Lethal Critical Hit (116 damage, Gnome E assassinated) Moke vs. Jeaux - (1/2 - 2 = 0 damage) Turdwing vs. Em - (10/2 - 19 = 0 damage) Shade vs. Pretzel - (50/2 - 32 = 0 damage) The heroes hold fast despite the blackness that threatens to consume them. Jeaux fires a shot that skims the gnome on the forefront, wisps of shadow seeping from the chunk blown off, his automaton shell protecting him from Moke's useless flailing. Em lifts his shield, batting back Turdwing and another gnome with ease. Soryx drives Vanquisher deep into one of the other copies, noting its weaknesses. One of his fellows takes a swipe at Hybros, leaving a shadowy bruise on the imp, but he merely twists to the side, instantly decapitating another of the gnomish imitations. Shadow pours out of its neck, until it's completely dissipated. The shade can't seem to get through Pretzel's defenses, try as he might. JimBee Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 OOC: The SOAH should gain 1/3 WP. "What are these things? No matter, they fall just as easily as any other, heheheh..." Hybros chugs a Grand Potion and swipes at Gnome D again from the front row.
Palathadric Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) If Hybros Uses Grand Potion, I Repeat Attack with Dual Staff (Back Row) Doubled. If not, I heal Hybros from the Back Row. "I'll can hold off the Baron's Free Hit with ease or the Shade's." JimB, Pretzel can heal Hybros, otherwise he will continue to attack the Baron. Should Soryx favour Humanoids or Dark, I can see the benefit of both. Soryx nods in respect as Hybros brings down a shadowy creature before repeating his attack. Edited April 19, 2014 by Palathadric
JimBee Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 "Are you not afraid that your holy magic will banish me to from whence I came?" Hybros jibed. "Probably not, but you would be short one assassin so it would be your own disservice, hehehe. Anyway, I do not need the heal more than you need to keep that Baron occupied." "Soryx, it might be best to focus on the shadowy nature of these creatures, I have a feeling we will be seeing more of them later, eheh."
Emjajoas Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Em repeats his attack, scowling at the shadows. They made him uneasy.

Emjajoas Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Em clicks his teeth, annoyed, and drinks a potion from the back row.
Palathadric Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 "Argh!" I growl, stepping back. "Baron, can't you see we are only trying to help you. Don't let the darkness summon you into its pits..." the sermon drags on appearing to be taken directly from my Scroll of Arc Sleep. Soryx scrambles back and grabs hold of the Vanquisher.
JimBee Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Hybros drinks another Grand Potion and throws his Banana Bladerang at Gnome D from the back row. "I hope this spell of yours works, Monk."
joeshmoe554 Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 *cough* Blessed *cough* Jeaux could feel his life force being drained from his body. Em sits behind his shield and drinks a potion as the shadowy horde fails to leave any impact on the heroes. Soryx makes a dive for his weapon, raking his clawed gauntlets across the face of one of the gnomes in the process. "That shade is going to be difficult to even damage."
