This is definitely a MUST BUY.

I love those landing gears and the general look is reminiscent of the "Aliens" Dropship, which is a good thing.

Now as I said in the trike review, since tomorrow is my birthday, you can send me the set by post ;-) :-D

you have done well, master *yoda* *sweet*

the dropship sure has some potential! the colors look fine, the over all design looks good as well. *sweet* sure, the cockpit needs some modding, the shooting mechanism has got to go, those orange tubes need to be deleted, but the basic structure looks good *sweet* does that canopy open at all?

the black ship seems to have newly designed parts, not the old UFO things, that's cool... thank god they are stickered, not printed! is there any printed tile inside the cockpit of the black fighter, *yoda* ? Is there a cockpit at all?

A very interesting set indeed with many good and usable parts! Nice review. *y*

The design ot that dropship is great with some neat construction details like

the way the cockpit and that rover

I see a possible MOC: Build up a small trooper compartment where the rover should be parked and then it would really start looking like a dropship from Aliens or StarCraft. Overall, I like the design. I don't know if I can afford it this year (too many SW sets to buy) but I like em! :)

Another fantastic review *yoda* Thank you so much.

Go Darth Maul. Eradicate the horribly designed alien MFs (does that stand for mini-figs or something else... >:-) )

Impale on!

I might look at getting this. It looked good when we first saw pictures, but now it looks even better. The drill rover looks better than I thought it would, and it's actually a little bit cute. The orange really compliments the cleanliness of the white, and makes the whole thing look sleek and futuristic. I actually thought the alien vacuum things were engines. Oh well. I don't think the alien ship is brilliant, but it's not bad. I quite like the general shape though, just perhaps not on this.

Thanks for the review. Even if the lightsaber vs aliens is starting to become a cliche...

only the cokpit can open to let the Mf in, but nothing else opens !!

No printed tiles whatsoever unfortunatly (I wanted those round tiles to be printed |-/ ) - and what you see is what you get, meaning No cockpit at all !! Good that its the aliens ship hehe !!

Even if the lightsaber vs aliens is starting to become a cliche...

And so ??

I'm Dissapointed that they decided to use giant stickers to go on those giant slopes.

Putting stickers on curved surfaces is highly error prone and I can see those causing trouble for kids.

But I'm even More Dissapointed by the fact that even the Small 2*2 tile pieces (like the computerscreen, ?radars? and MM logos) are stickers as well.

It is these small 'icon' tiles that give any Space theme its Character! They're small and common enough(vs the bigslopes) that the reusability argument doesn't hold much water. Especially for the computer screen, there is no excuse there!

I disagree with you here for the following reason: those parts can be nice to use for other MOCs and the stickers are plain ugly IMO. But I do agree that the stickers are a apin to place (I really despise putting those horrendous stickers >:-( ).

Exactly !! I really would love to know the price increase to have those small printed parts |-/ Not that much I guess.

Stickers OFF !!

This is amazing...so are you planning on reviewing every single set of 07? :-P

It looks like a great set, and 4 jellies is a great deal! What exactly DOES move on them? *wacko*

Sounds like a wicked set. Great reviewing as always Yoda. I might wait to see the other sets reviewed before i buy one from this line. Damn those Jellies though, they could have been so much more.

hmmmh

So now that we've established that there are no iconic printed tiles. I'm only seeing this as a parts pack mostly.

Debating if I should buy or not.

Looks like you get a few white angled wing plates, the big black slopes on the alien ship, bunch of technic beams that I already have enough of, the orange windscreens, some nice orange wheels... maybe, but I'll buy the smaller parts packs first.

Ya know, I'm thinking that the 6wheeled rover in this set, ought to trade places (or at least undercarriages) with the 4wheeled rover in the alien fighter attack set. It would give the smaller set more substance; and in exchange for the smaller rover in the dropship, add a cargo box or something else it could carry. Both would be better.

Reading this review has got me thinking. These sets are really cool. I've been looking at some spacey Lego sets and starting to admire the Blacktron series. Now, I can't go and buy them because they are expensive and/or I have no money for an additional series! But, seeing these has got me thinking of buying all the ones which include the humans, it's really interesting. What really sparked me to get these is those l ovely trans-orange pieces. I absolutely ADORE them! *wub* . Truly.

I really like all the features on the dropship. Not the alien ship though, it kind of looks akward to drive. The little rover looks nice. TRANS-ORANGE COCKPIT PIECE!

I like alot of things on the dropship. The only one thing that is a down is...the alien sucker, thingys. I don't like they're purpose on the ship. I like the piece, not it's purpose.

I truly enjoy this and look forward to trying to get it. That would be very neat for lego to continue with these...but in more Classic Space terms.

I've been wondering....are the aliens (whom you refer to jellies :-P) Are they jelly like? Or all hard plastic?

Well that's disappointing...I was hoping for as much articulation as the exoforce robots :-/ What a horribly cheap way for them to take...I mean how could they even be used? Except as like a hologram...

Thanks, Asuka

Maybe once the sets are largely distributed, we could have a contest to discover the most innovative use of the useless alien figs?

I'm thinking, that they could have simply recycled the ExoForce Drones in transgreen and they would have made decent aliens...

Actually there were always two types of robes. The more intricate robe, most often found on Palpatine, and the simpler one pictured above. So no new torso, though it wouldn't surprise me if he had the SI anyway :-P

:-$ Yup you're right

Just checked Bricklink

:-( No new torso

Oh well................

I guess this means I am feeling *wacko*

For some strange reason

maybe all the new sets to buy X-D
