ZCerberus Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 It indeed does look like a drop ship. I am curious to see the big drilling machine though, I saw a picture of the actual version somewhere and it looks stellar! I bet you wouldn't mind reviewing that one Yoda! Quote
Wout Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Nice review yoda, Can you also make a picture of the aliens from the front and the behind of them. I like the picture of them with Darth Maul, but these are the first real sharp pictures of them and you see them only from left and right. Maybe we can use them for an amusementpark. Quote
xenologer Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Maybe we can use them for an amusementpark. As decorative statues you mean? ...or some bizzare ride... 8- Quote

Sure thing, will post pics tomorrow ;-) Maybe we can use them for an amusementpark. Interesting ;-) Any ideas at all ?? I think they can be like a giant plush to win hehe, or target for air guns :-P *yoda* Quote
Norro Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Thanks! Another great review... and I want one! God Bless, Nathan Quote
zero1312 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I have to agree, the tubes doesn't fit the ship, but I bet they would work well as cannons. ;-) Quote
iamded Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Wow, this is really neat. However, the thing I found most interesting was the way the drilling vehicles attaches to the drop-ship. I think it's ingenious! It will be good if other sets can connect to the ship in this way. Also, something else attachable to the drop-ship would be nice in the set, like how the Rock Raiders drop-ship had the container and the vehicle. But it's still very nice like this. Thanks Yoda for all your reviews!! Quote
phoinix Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 thank you for the review yoda now i have a clear image about the new space line and i am still not enthusiastic about it i HATE the alien ship design...its horrible! not to mention the aliens them selfs! what where they thinking? ugly cant even describe it.. and the story line pretty much sucks.. the "good" humans invate the "evil" aliens and capture them? are they taking them to Guatanamo?? once again the pure humans take control of the universe :-X its such a cliche!! the big surprise is that i like the design of the white-orange spaceship!! i really do!! if only it wasnt used to capture gummi bears! this story could be used by a dentist! dont eat these many sweets! and send your troops in to capture sugar! i think i now understand the use of all the drills in the new space line!!! Wout Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 About the amusementspark, I thought something like a Space-horror-ride. Offcourse these aliens are not as frightfull as the terrifying Jar Jar Binks, but they are a nice addition. :-P :-D Quote
jeffrey Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Awesome~! Lego finally get rid of StarWars and release it's own theme. And the dropship must add to my lego collection. The Jelly's ship also catch my eyes too. It has a unique building style apart from other jelly's ships. By the way, the Drilling Rover looks too similar to the rover in ETX Alien Strike. It should be something difference , say it can be a lorry carrying crystal instead. I will get mine when they are released. Quote
Corvus Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Well that's disappointing...I was hoping for as much articulation as the exoforce robots :-/ What a horribly cheap way for them to take...I mean how could they even be used? Except as like a hologram... Target practice? X-D Good review, *yoda* , are you planning to review the base, as well? Please? I'm begging!! X-D Quote
Dino_Bot Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Its beautiful. But tell me why are the aliens the bad guys? shouldn't it be the other way around since humans ARE the aliens in their planet? Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 Can you also make a picture of the aliens from the front and the behind of them. Here you go ;-) *yoda* , are you planning to review the base, as well? Please? I'm begging!! X-D Loooool :-D I am tempted by it, not sure yet but I do love that big ship so maybe in the near future ;-) :( Those gummi bears made me hungry! Immitates Hommer *Humm, gummy aliens...* *yoda* Quote
xenologer Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 But tell me why are the aliens the bad guys? shouldn't it be the other way around since humans ARE the aliens in their planet? Yes from the set decriptions, it sounds like the humans are collecting the green energy crystals on Mars; and the 'jellies' are fighting with them because, well its theirs... So it sounds to me like, yeah the humans are bad. They're invading a planet and stealing from the natives. Lets put it this way "mining !Tank!"?!?!? I'm not sure where TLG is going with these kinda themes lately; are they hoping kids will Notice the moral ambiguity of the characters and learn something? Or are they really just brushing it off as Humans=Good, EveryoneElse=Evil? P.S. I just realized, green energy crystals -Tiberium? Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Cool! The dropship looks awesome! I like the details they put in there. And the alien (jellies) ship is cook too! I like the guns. Seems like you got a new (and proper) way to use they aliens huh? X-D Thanks for the review! -ZotS Quote
Shadows Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 When I heard that the theme for the classic space revival everyone dreamed of would end up being a return to Mars, I cringed. I avoided all news and all pics. I just didn't want to see it. Ok, so I've looked now. It's both better and worse than I imagined. I figured on mediocre ships and battle droid part aliens. It's a range of fair to very good ships and ? *alien* ? aliens. I don't know quite what to make of those. It's bad when I'm longing for a race of Gungans to invade and take over Mars, just so the humans will have a worthy target instead of killing ... those things. I still don't know what to call them. They can't even hold anything properly. Well, maybe a briefcase. Yes, that's it! I will use the aliens as intergalactic insurance salesmen and justify our invasion and subsequent elimination of their evil menace! Now it's all clear. Well, they're clear. Quote
