You wont change society or business. I truly believe it is a problem that women receive unequal pay and have a smaller presence in the work force, I know that relates directly to what we're saying, but heres the thing, lego is a for profit company with a girls line and a kind of boys line, toy manufactures will always do this to make more money, it is on us, the consumer to use their product more responsibly, by making more female leaders and not restricting ourselves to lego's guidelines. You are right legoman, but what I'm suggesting is the only way to counter the gender bias, making a post on a forum wont, and we cant storm the lego headquarters with pitchforks asking for more diversity, what can we do but use our own sense of whats right and equal, and create more woman leaders and share our creations with the lego community.

I think we shouldn't go too far or we're just naming all female characters.

Well, comparing leading a whole theme story or a faction, I guess the first one is more important in the Lego worold . Seriously. besides the girls-oriented theme (Belville, Friends and the Disney princesses), there are no actual female leading protagonists in any of the relevant Lego stories. Which is somewhat a miss to appeal a neutral market.

If counting non-phisycal, Gleeson from Under Cover storyline is a mayor. Is Madam Frost a leader? I didn't have a chance to read Belville stories.

Madam Frost a leader? Not hardly. She always wanted to be though. Princess Vanilla was definitely the lead character of the Cold North. Joined by her best friend Flora. Later with the inclusion of Rosita and Elena, Vanilla ventured out beyond the Cold North and became the icon for Belville for awhile. (Come to think of it, Vanilla has a strong resemblance to Elsa, while Flora kinda resembles Anna from Frozen. Maybe someone from Disney planned it that way? *feels the sudden urge to create a Frozen MOC.*) :classic:

In technical terms, Vanilla was the protagonist, whilst Madam Frost was the antagonist. Maybe they both were leaders after all, but Vanilla became an icon. Still trumps Madam Frost, though.

Then there's Princess Rosaline before Vanilla came along. Princess Paprika followed Vanilla and after her, LEGO stopped giving names and stories to their princesses other than Thumbelina, the Snow Queen, little mermaid, and that princess-with-no-name-that-can-feel-veggies-in-her-sleep.

Un-familiar with the non-fairy-tale ladies, but most of them weren't given any sort of name or identity.

Okay, I just say please calm down and make peaceful discussion.

Madam Frost a leader? Not hardly. She always wanted to be though.

In the same way, all minifigure witches/wizards in Lego world can be assumed to be leaders. There have been actaul male wizard leaders in Castle subthemes (at least judging from the positions in chess sets). Those armies could be private human armies or summoned monsters. However Belville seldom introduce minion characters like the Castle themes do, and it seems like that the story booklets didn't mention the minions either. We may only assume that the princess's titles are not self-called  . However I remember that Vanilla's parents exist so she's not the ruler of the Cold North yet.

Anyway, Madam Frost is an iconic, original Lego witch IMO. Unfortunately there is no way for Belville canons to return.

Thanx for your useful and detailed sharings. :sweet: Maybe you can post some of these in Brickipedia.

And BTW Professor Sam is much like a protagonist in the story, even though she's not a member of salvage crew at the beginning.
