Zanki Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I haven't been able to get any of the modulars because they are so expensive, but I went to the pick and brick wall and managed to grab so many blue pieces that I thought I could use them to build something big. I had enough bricks at home for the rest of the pieces, although some of the floors are strange colours and one window is odd. I know this isn't the full set, but it's my first modular (although I didn't have enough bricks to finish the back). It's not accurate at all, but I like it. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Not bad modular.....any interior ? Brick On 'Zanki' ! Quote
The Dutch Guy Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 For a first modular.... Not bad at all. I like what you did with the side walls. I have a LOT of 1x2x6 bricks in my collection and can use them like you did for al blind wall. I specialy like your roof. I hoop you will also share your next building with us. Quote
kinggregus Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I am admittedly very impressed by your house. Using the pick a brick wall as the main source of brick must have made your build very challenging. I am quite eager to see the buildings you will be making once your collection grows. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Good start. You just need a few smaller pieces here and there to add some detailing. Color scheme can vary per person, so that isn't a huge problem. I think it'd be more getting some windows to help complement it with the series. I never considered it originally, but within the last few months as I was building my own versions of modulars that a 1x2x5/1x1x5 bricks work well as walls. It can be unsightly seeing the seam between the bricks, but it fills up the walls quickly. So I've built my Cafe Corner with that so far. Since I normally wouldn't see the side/back it isn't a huge deal. Plus it was cheaper than having to source all of the regular bricks. I really like the sidewalk using the 1x1 round tiles. I hadn't thought of that before. The only problem there is seeing the green underneath. If you sourced a lot of 16x32 dark bley baseplates or built all of the modulars up one plate and put a different color underneath the sidewalk, that would look stellar. I was just going to alternate 1x2 tiles to make it look more cobblestoned, but this would work too! Quote
Only Sinner Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Your town looks pretty good, Zanki. I really like all the lovely bright colors! Quote
