SeptemLego Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Hi folks, as a kid I quit playing with lego with about 13-14 years. The 10228 haunted manison got me back with 30 years ;). I like the 10228 it the way it was standing next to my TV... but somehow it looked out of the place. So I started width the Lego Digital Designer and created a scene with a 32x32 plate. As a fan of the TV show "The Munsters" I added a little detail: - 1313 housenumber on the garden gate - Mockingbird LN street sign on the lantern My general aim: Make a garden scene in the way LEGO might have it done themself without looking to be selfmade. I hope you like it! Its my first creation in LEGO since 17 years ;). Here is my result: Detail front view: Garden detail: House still operating like before: Quote
Ecbirx Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Very nice, looks like it comes right off the shelf at the LEGO store! Quote
SSJ2 Dark Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Looks great, I especially like the tree with reddened leaves! Inspires me to modularize my Haunted House too! And welcome back to LEGO! :) Quote
SeptemLego Posted April 12, 2014 Author Posted April 12, 2014 Thanks ^^... first I got some diffrent coloured leaves of the tree in theLego Digital Designer... but later I figured out that many bricks there have colors which are not existing. So I made the leaves autumn style red which I like more then my original Idea :). Here is my LDD creation: Quote
Only Sinner Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 That garden is great! I reaally like the mailbox and lamp post adding to the sidewalk. That makes it really fit in with the other modulars for those who doubted. Quote
B Rick Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Great job! I really like the treecolours. I wanted those too but I had already lots of browns and greens so I went with that... Last week I visited a Lego store that had these red leaves in the pab-wall but I didn't take any... Stupid me... Good to see that it still functions as a dollhouse with all those tiles underneath. TheLazyChicken Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Amazing job! I really need to try this. Keep up the amazing work! Quote
Colossus Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I love it! Great details, but not too many so that it looks cluttered. I'm glad that you went with the red leaves. I think it gives the tree a more dessicated look. Awesome build! Quote
SeptemLego Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Small fun update ;). Lilly Munsters not amused about the new neighbours ;). Right now I´m planning a new modular house and after that I will update the 10228 again. In the meantime I gathered some new ideas I want to realize with my house :). Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Love this set,,,indeed Lego did an Awesome job to create such a full detailed and complete one!... Awesome MOC there too :) Quote
Donatello Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) I "borrowed" your idea for my own Haunted House so it could sit next to my modulars. I plan on adding a 16x32 baseplate since it needs a bigger garden in my opinion but first I have to improve my tree building. I also plan to make it open up in layers like a real modular and it can still open up (bad photo since I forgot to take pictures when it was light) Edited November 7, 2014 by Donatello Quote
Modularguy Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Why can't I see the pics in the post! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Probably because the thread is from April and the user has removed them from the host site or they are hosted somewhere having issues (like brickshelf). Quote
