lightningtiger Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 My biggest wish for a great vehicle for next season is a decent size bus, with a small shelter and 3 minifigs, for example a City size version of Duplo 5636. Please, Lego people, how hard can it be ?????? Ah, last year we got Town Square with a bus in it so I doubt they would and besides this goes in a different part of the forum.....I'll get a mod to fix it. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 We've had 3, a yellow one, a white one, and now a red one since 2009. All in a proper scale size compared to other City trucks. So, it's pretty easy Quote

There really has been a nice selection of public transport vehicles (not counting the trains) since City Corner from 2009. Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I have no idea if similar ideas have been posted, but I thought I'd share a few ideas of mine for some "great vehicles" as Lego calls them. TV Camera crew, a van, blue and grey, maybe the same logo as the classic town version? Three minifigs, a news reporter, one camera man, and a technician perhaps. The inside of the van would have various appropriate monitors, and space to store camera equipment/lights etc. A tram. Similar design to the public transport version, maybe white and blue, or green? Two figs, a driver and a passenger. White van. Well, a white van, it'd be white, and it'd look like a Ford transit! Two minifigs, just average people, and some crates to go in the back. Freezer truck. An updated version of the Tine truck from 1999 is what I'm thinking. Two minifigs, one to drive, one to get out and move the goods. Taxi. Yellow cab, similar to the one in this years train station. One passenger, one driver. Double decker bus. Like the City Corner one just stairs at the back and more seating at the top. Maybe a blue/black colour scheme? Three minifigs, one driver, two passengers. Quote

I've got the red bus from 'Town Square' and like it a lot, its big, my niece always says when she is here 'this is a BIG bus' haha, love it. Quote
Dat Lego Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Well I really hope TLG will release a double decker bus for the Great Vehicles theme but as some has pointed out above, it's very unlikely. Here's some ideas: -Neighbourhood park (medium sized), price would be around $50-$70. Includes a playground, skateboard ramps, flower park filled with flowers and trees, and small snack bar/vendor. -Airport (now this is more about my personal desires ), price would be $100-$110. Includes the terminal with baggage claim, check-in area, arrivals pick-up area, lounge/cafe, boarding gate and seats, jetway/boarding stairs. Then a ground service vehicle like a baggage car and pushback tow car. An ATC tower. And of course, the plane. Plane's size around the size of the old one from 2010's plane but slightly bigger. As I told you, my personal desires . Quote
Robert8 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 What City subthemes would you like to see in 2016? Personally, I'd like to see the Emergency subtheme returning, with a proper Hospital set of +1500 pieces Quote
ilikeboomerang1 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I would like to see a Housing subtheme. Quote
BrickJagger Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Zoo. Only decent idea that they've surprisingly never experimented with. Quote
XAxles Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 (edited) I'd back up the Hospital sub-theme and augment it with the addition of a Pharmaceuticals set, but how about a Schools theme? Shouldn't those kids be studying and the professionals be having masters and doctorates? Have it as one big school cut up in, say, 6 sets that can be put up together, plus a 6-fig Starter Set and one School Bus. One set can be the Library, the other the Computer Room, a Classroom, Canteen, a Gym for sports and a Science Lab/Classroom. Imagine all the new printed parts that the sets will bring! And we might even get a board piece that can be written on! Also, an Industries sub-theme. Car factories, repair shops, foundries, shipyards and dockyards, food processing, and appliances. Stretch it for 5 years. I wanna see TLG come up with fig-scale versions of our home appliances and the things used to make them. For trains... how about a Classic Underground line? Edited July 7, 2015 by XAxles Quote
Er!k Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 There are so many animals available for a Zoo... Indeed too bad it are only Duplo themes. Further I would like to see a new Gas Station. Quote
Shib Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Zoo. Only decent idea that they've surprisingly never experimented with. If LEGO ever did do a Zoo sub theme of City I would suddenly be a lot more interested in City sets! A nice big Zoo display is one of those things on my ever growing to do list. Quote
GallardoLU Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 what about a Farm theme? could have some great play features, Tractor with large base plate to plant crops and then harvest them. animal pens with goats, pigs, chicken. and as a "flagship" set a massive barn either dairy or crops, with a big grain silo. Another theme that is woefully missing is a Sports theme, a set of say 6 or so sets each representing one of the more popular sports: Football(aka soccer), Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Track and Field, and Swimming. Quote
LegoDakin Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I think a farm would be good because then you have a bit of scenery for you trains as well, plus there are lots of vehicles to be made what Lego like making. Quote
ReplicaProfile Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 (edited) Any theme involving animals would be cool. I would like to see a Housing subtheme. I believe you mean primary theme . Edited July 7, 2015 by TrentonC Quote
ilikeboomerang1 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Any theme involving animals would be cool. I believe you mean primary theme . Yes, but what I mean is basically a theme of different houses at around 75 dollars. I would also like to see a TV News subtheme, and the sets would be stuff like the tv studio, helicopter, and van. Maybe even ''promote'' the subtheme with advertisements in other sets. Quote

Don't know how you think but underground lines are UNDER the ground. That means not viewable.... And lego would need to design an tunnel piece. Quote
Venunder Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 A Safari theme would be great. It gives scope for many new animals and the staple product of Lego, vehicles. There can also be new buildings for the safari Lodge, The Souvenir Shop and Camper vans, Caravans or Tents for the field trip. Also plenty of options for the vegetation, Tan Bushes, Tan Grasses etc.... A straight forward Zoo or Circus theme is probably a no go area in this era of animal rights and conservation. The other sub-theme would be shops. However this is unlikely with the current Creator shops that are available. Quote
Robert8 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 a TV News subtheme, and the sets would be stuff like the tv studio, helicopter, and van. Maybe even ''promote'' the subtheme with advertisements in other sets. That's a pretty neat idea. Some old minifigures could return, like Johnny Thunder in the Studios theme Quote
XAxles Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 You mean a schools theme like the playmobil one? Quite. Of course, it'd be bigger, better, and would have many more companion sets to make a whole school system. Maybe even a College Building for a Modular! (But that's be in its topic.) Quote
Shib Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 A straight forward Zoo or Circus theme is probably a no go area in this era of animal rights and conservation. Agree on circus, but most modern zoos are about education and conservation, for the most part the days of misinformed animal liberators breaking open cages is behind us as most people interested in animal welfare tend to actually learn about the animals now and realise that zoos have an important role in conservation. Also there has been Duplo zoo themes so it does seem a possibility. Safari theme might be a happy medium, as long as it's an excuse to get lots of moulded animal parts I'd basically be happy ;-) Quote
warsch Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Lego seem to re-release fire station, city police stations and hospitals every few years. So I guess 2016 is about time for a new hospital. Though I've the last one (4429 Helicopter Rescue) and it looks quite good next to other modern buildings. And I really hope they're not making another cop sub-theme. Forest cops, swamp cops... where else could they place cops? I'd really love to see some ordinary city buildings. Something along the lines of museum (60008) and bank (3661). Quote
*thomas* Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) Like stated above, a Safari theme would be great, as long as the focus isn't on the vehicles. A lodge, souvenir shop, rescue centre would be great. If they would ad an ATV, Jeep and a camper to all of this, they would have a complete line-up. Edit: something like this... I don't understand why Duplo keeps getting al the animal themes. Edited July 8, 2015 by *thomas* Quote
Shib Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Just struck by a thought, Friends recently had the animal rescue sub theme, which was pretty much a safari like theme. Quote
