BlueBard Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Wow, that post box is very very very interesting... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 (edited) I would like to see a modernized version of the LEGO Divers town subtheme, with coral reefs, submersibles, an undersea laboratory with x-ray machine, and microscope, an expedition boat, a surface laboratory with helipad, crane, and x-ray machine, a pontoon boat with x-ray machine, a raft, sharks, sawfish, stingrays, octopusses, shipwrecks, and a whale skeleton. The minifigs found in these sets are scuba divers, sub drivers, boat captains, and in one set, a helicopter pilot. That's a great idea, Justin! This theme was and I think that if TLG released a new theme similar to this one (but not with ugly fantasy stuff like the last Aqua ... themes) it would be brilliant! More maritime stuff in general - especially an oil rig, an oil tanker and a pleasure cruiser - would be awesome! Wow, that post box is very very very interesting... Thanks, BlueBard! You're welcome to participate and present ideas, too! I'd like to see more buildings which have a typical architecture for every continent (mainly as exclusive sets but even as regular sets - but not in CC style!!!) - e. g. - a Chinese restaurant with that special Asian roof and that special windows (like seen in the Ninja theme) - an ancient Japanese garden with a tea house with that special Asian roof and that special windows, a lot of flowers, a little river with little brige and a little water fall - an ancient Arabian hotel with that special Arabian cupola, many little windows, a wall with pinnacles, many golden adornments, some palms and a swimming pool - an ancient American bank and/or city hall with that special Amerian cupola and many columns - an ancient European bakery with that special half-timbered work ... BlueBard Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Hey, for what did you thank BlueBard? I posted that picture! I was thinking the same BTW, I've already done two prelim LDD designs for the post box: In my city (Madrid) they use to be completely yellow so I think I'll keep the second one for my City display Quote
paanjang16 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 (edited) Here are some of my ideas:- Octan Park and Service:- 2-3 storey car park with car elevator to bring your vehicle to your parking lot. Have a service garage with car lift, tool box and car wash. 4 petrol pumps for Legoman to refuel thier cars before they head home. Vacuum the car interior to keep clean. Includes a tow truck and a service car for the Octane stuff. Park your car in the garage! Sent it to the service station for a check-up! or just refuel before heading back home, the play value is limitless!! Other accessories include a sedan car, a convertible, a van and a motorbike. Ironically Lego had already created this gem back in 1988 with the Metro Park and Service Tower Lego Park and Ride Similar to Octan Park and Service, but with a connectible monorail station! Use the elevator to park your car at the parking tower! Walk down to the nearby LRT/MRT/Tube/Subway station! Have a Hot dog while waiting for the train! Includes 2 sedan, 1 van and 1 SUV. Also includes monorail track and 2nd station. Lego rough terrain crane Based on the Tadano Rough Terrain crane, it is a small compact crane that has a wheelbase of a small truck but capable of lifting heavy loads and be in some rough situations. Features include fully extendable boom, extendable stabilizers, large wheels, motor functions to lift stuff, those heavy counterweights found in Lego ships and an awesome looking driver. Lego Harbour 2010 On the dock are harbour cranes similar in shape to the crane from 6542 Launch and Load Seaport, but with motor functions and able to lift the container and unload them on the ship. The ship meanwhile as a turning propeller so that it can sail across your bathtub. The dock is long enough for the crane to move from one end of the ship to the other without moving the ship. Have about 10 containers to play load and unload. The crane in 7994 just does not cut it anymore; shows how cheap Lego is. Lego double decker bus Let's go cross country aboard the Lego double decker bus! Features a top deck with 10 seats, staircase to the lower deck, TV and table in lower deck and driver's compartment. Also have engine and luggage compartment in the rear. Includes 1 driver, 1 attendant and 5 passengers. Below is the picture of a double decker bus I took to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur. Lego tower crane 2010 Featuring the box girders from the Crawler crane as part of the tower and boom. Lego Osprey helicopter Twin rotor blade helicopter based on the Osprey dual rotor. Many more coming soon Edited June 19, 2009 by paanjang16 Quote
Galaxy Explorer Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I'm sure it's been said before, but for the January 2010 wave I would love to see a Hospital at the $100 price point. I think we are due for a new Airport as well. Sorry to request all these re-hashes, but "Otisburg" really needs an updated Hospital & Airport. I would also like to see a new mini-figure collection, maybe with a phone booth & ATM. A Taxi cab would be welcome, also. Quote
just2good Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I don't know about you, but I would love LEGO city boats. The town ones were so awsome! Quote
commander Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 To follow up your harbor theme:A fish market. With minifig-scaled crabs, fish, shrimp. and shells.. *wub* Minifigs: 2 fish salesmen (a captain style one and one with the green overall from 7994) and a woman. Some 10 Euro-ish (I just discovered I don't have the Euro sign on my keyboard! X-D ) I'd just love that set.. :-$ And Holodoc, the Doctor's car IS a great set, It has doors! *wub* But the hospital was crap.. *sad* to tell you the truth i agree the hospital is crap Quote
Tom Bricks Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 More maritime stuff in general - especially an oil rig, an oil tanker and a pleasure cruiser - would be awesome! I agree. I want a yacht for about $30 and a cruise ship for $100. Quote
Justin Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 (edited) I would like to see another 8-stud-wide passenger plane, but in the style of the Beechcraft Starship aircraft, with the rear-facing propellers, canards, five porthole windows on each side, etc. LEGO has tried this unusual style before, with the release of the 1818 Starliner in 1996: Here's a picture of a real Beechcraft Starship airplane for comparison: It would also include ground support equipment and vehicles, 6 minifigures including a pilot, grounds crew, and four passengers, as well as suitcases for the passengers. The town ones were so awsome! I totally agree with you, just2good! The Maratima theme from around 1991 was awesome! I wish TLG releases more maritime sets - cargo as well as passenger transportation! I agree. I want a yacht for about $30 and a cruise ship for $100. I totally agree with you, Tom Bricks! A yacht would be awesome and a pleasure cruiser would be simply outstanding! But I don't see a pleasure cruiser being released for 100 Dollars/Euros since this is too cheap that TLG can make profit with it - or it would be only very small, with nearly no interior and only a very small number of minifigs and accessory - and do you want that?! I hope not. But I think that for 150-200 Euros/Dollars it is realistic (comparison: the last cargo harbor was 80 Euros)! Hopefully TLG will release a big pleasure cruiser in about the size of the last cargo harbor but with much interior, many minifigs and nice accessory next year or at the latest in 2011! That would be awesome!!! I would like to see another 8-stud-wide passenger plane, but in the style of the Beechcraft Starship aircraft, with the rear-facing propellers, canards, five porthole windows on each side, etc. I partly agree with you, Justin! On the one hand I disagree since I really don't like that big 8 stuck wide planes since they simply need much too much space and even look a bit <insert that tiresome argument>. On the other hand I agree with you since I really would like to see a beechcraft starship, too, but more as some sort of private plane - that would be great! That sort of plane is ripe for propfan engines. Two rows of propellers per engine, with more blades in each row. I wonder if there would be a kit if a real one appears 10 years from now? Mark Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) A new idea: Motorcycle Repair 13-17 Euros a small black motorcycle and a 4 stuck wide break-down servie car with doors and cargo bay door including a box with repair tools, a handy, a grey suitcase and a warning triangle minifigs: motorcycle driver and break-down service man This set would imo be 1. a great addition for every AFOL's city layout and 2. a cool set for JFOLs since it includes a lot of action and playability plus a self-explaining story to play with the contents of this set. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter Edited August 20, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

I wish TLG releases more maritime sets - cargo as well as passenger transportation! +1. I agree with both of you. More ships, and the 1991 ones were awesome. I hope new boats and ships will have brick-built hulls. At least not the big Tupperware hulls they use these days, that are useless for anything else. A new idea:Motorcycle Repair 13-17 Euros That sounds really good. It would be a great set to start, and as you mentioned also great for AFOLs to expand their layout. Quote

Piranha Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) Some great ideas have been mentioned I would think a camping sub theme like Farm would be a great idea Since we already got the Camper RV Lakeside Cabin: Includes water and land base plate, cabins, docks and speed/fishing boats with fishing poles and or kayaks Also includes large spruce trees Gone Fishin: Boat on trailer with truck/jeep vehicle Campsite: Includes tents and camp area, BBQ rack, trees and a new Lego wild grizzly bear I am sure others will have more ideas but those are just my basic ones Edited August 24, 2009 by Piranha Quote
Ricecracker Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) I would think a camping sub theme like Farm would be a great idea Oooh... I like this idea. What about some more back country-ish sets? Canoe Launch Site: A dirt road/launch area and water with a small dock on a 32x32 baseplate. Includes pick-up truck, two canoes (One on top of the truck), one family (Mother, Father, Child) getting into a canoe in the water, three men unloading the truck, two food barrels, 8 packs. Portage beginning/end: The start/end of a modular portage. Portage sign hung on a tree. Includes landing for canoes, two canoes, four people, one food barrel, 3 packs. 32x32 baseplate Portage middle (Large): Another section of the modular portage, on a 32x32 baseplate. Includes two people carrying packs. Portage Middle (Small): Another section of the modular portage, on a 16x16 baseplate. Includes one person carrying a pack. Canoe Trip: An small island on a 32x32 baseplate with a tent set up, a food barrel and two packs, a camp fire and a couple. And they could sell 32x32 blue baseplates in packages of 2(?) as lakes. It's probably all wishful thinking, but that's what this thread is for anyway. Edited August 24, 2009 by Ricecracker Quote
David Thomsen Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Ah... daydream time. I'll try to keep all of these realistic, it would be easy to suggest 'museum' or 'library' or 'school' but TLC have never shown any interest in that kind of municipal building, so there's no point. A motorcycle shop would be good, and it's been done before, a long time ago. There are several different types of motorcycle available now, they could all be used. I want to get Mutt's motorcycle without supporting a film I thought was disappointing. A car shop. It would be an easy way to increase the civilian traffic in my city. It would be neat if each car had spare parts for two or three different designs. Or, a vehicle transporter, like 6753 but in minifig size. Another good way to introduce lots of cars. Um... a cottage for my farmers would be awesome. Especially if it had a lot of detail, like the christmas house this year. A picnic area, could be a small set with a park bench, litter bin, trees and a family with lunch. Would go well with the horse trailer and campers sets. A house or two. I know... very simple. But seriously, my figs need somewhere to live! Maybe even an apartment building, like the one in 7633 but more functional. A drive-in motel. Similar idea... somewhere for figs to sleep. I agree that boats/marinas would be nice, but my minifigs live in a rural farming town, where would the boats go? Edited August 25, 2009 by David Thomsen Quote
Rijkvv Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) A monorail set. Special parts are expensive, and not likely that TLG will ever release new Monorail parts, but look what I found at Brickshelf (not mine): Folder. A brick-built system is very easy to expand, and the costs are lower, because no new pieces have to be introduced. Edited August 25, 2009 by Richie Quote
Dr Kilroy Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Hmm... Er... Oh... I've got a lot of ideas! But I can choose few favourite: a bank, a post office, a library and a block of flats! A camping theme would be great! (With TLG releasing the camper this year I even thought that we'll surely see a whole seaside/beach/camping theme this year. Instead of this TLG comes back again with boring Fire and Airport. ) Portage beginning/end:The start/end of a modular portage. To have a portage which can be set together how you like it (like this year's Pirates harbor in the Pirates theme) is a great idea, Ricecracker! Canoe Launch Site:A dirt road/launch area and water with a small dock on a 32x32 baseplate. Bachus Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I would like to see: - More new traffic signs. - A new parking baseplate. - Something like a drive-inn burger restaurant. - Old Boats (like 8x20 studs) - Icecream van What they really should do to all AFOL is selling straight roadplates, without junctions etc.!!! That would be a very nice idea, David Thomsen! I only fear that TLG would make it too huge and design it too juniroized (like e. g. that totally oversized green dumper truck some years ago). With the great farm sets this year and the one next year a farmhouse is so much needed in order to build up a complete farm! A house or two. I know... very simple. A brick-built system is very easy to expand, and the costs are lower, because no new pieces have to be introduced. I totally agree with you, Richie! A new elevated train is really needed, too! And I really hope that TLG will release one as the fan's choice set in next summer. Btw: Do you know how this elevated train can drive on these "brick-built" tracks? Hmm... Er... Oh... I've got a lot of ideas! But I can choose few favourite: a bank, a post office, a library and a block of flats! Note: they can be modular houses. Excluding block of flats, of course. First can be dark green, second white, and third tan. Oh, I forgot about my second-favourite: Town Park!!! These are great ideas, Dr Kilroy! A bank, a post office and apartment and family houses are needed very much! But I would not like them to be CC styled! - Something like a drive-inn burger restaurant. This is a great idea, Bachus!
