I vote 100% for more impulse sets. A postman impulse would be PERFECT.

Postman fig (hat, head, torso, legs)

Red bike (red because thats the only color TLG makes, its unlikely they would make yellow or some other color just for one set)

Indiana Jones messenger bag (same as how it was used in the new fire station modular building)

Mailbox (same as the one in the mail van)

Plus 1 x 2 letter tiles (2 maybe)

I totally agree with you, jonwil!

A postman Impulse set with a bicycle (it does even not necessarily have to include a mailbox) would be great!

And a postman with that kind of trolley you can somtimes see would be very nice, too.

I wish there were more City sets with a rural aspect to them. The farm sets are great, even if they aren't strictly 'City'. Even so, I'd like there to be more green spaces like real cities, such as parks, etc. I was annoyed that from the three sets we voted on last year, the preliminary design of the set we all thought would be like a town 'park' looked exactly like the 50th anniversary town plan, which perhaps put people off voting for it. Anyway, I'd like to see...

- A playground with working swings, a slide, see saw and roundabout.

- An ice cream van, with ice creams and lollipop accessories, a driver wearing a shirt, 2 kids and a mother.

- A small park cafe selling hot dogs and coffee with lots of trees and added scenery, including fountain, grandparents and children with skateboards and new coloured bikes (I used to have a great Playmobil set like this!).

It's also a shame we don't have many sets just to bulk our cities up with more minifigures. The 8401 City Mini-figure collection was a start but I already had all the figures from other sets and there weren't many of them or much variety. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8401-1

It would be great to have a much larger version of this with a lot more figures, each one with new torsos and heads, which are not available in other sets. It should include about 25 figures, including children (with various new-coloured stubbies), old people, civilians in both casual and office attire and lots of trees, plants, flowers and accessories, such as new coloured bikes (1 lime green, 1 purple and 1 light blue please!). I'd also love a grey moulded manual wheelchair like the red cargo trolley.

In my opinion, everyone would want to get this set as they would include new, exclusive figures and would please people wanting civilian sets without having to build something specific to add playability (they could just be sold as City 'filler' packs). They could even make 2 versions - a summer one (more Paradisa style figs) and a winter one (minifigs with coloured hands for gloves, the trees with snow, etc). I understand it would cost more to produce exclusive minifigures but they do it for the licensed sets all the time. It's frustrating they don't treat Lego City with the same importance it quite rightly deserves.

I too think this is a great idea, but they've already made bikes in black, dark pink, white and yellow. You can find that here .

A Mail carrier would be very popular indeed

Btw: Do you know how this elevated train can drive on these "brick-built" tracks?

I hope this and this will help. A conventional motor, gears and a 9V System battery box. It's not clear to me which motor he used, but I'm almost certain something similar can be built with Power Functions: one medium motor and the rechargeable battery as power supply.

Lego added a soundbrick to the recent Merry Go Round set. What about a new trainsound- soundbrick to put in locomotives?

Thanks, Richie. So the train runs with non-train wheels which can be put into the brick tracks - a very interesting method.

I bet that the new City trains coming out next summer will include a new soundbrick, Bachus.

A new idea:

I would so much like to get a brick-built weeping willow.

Perhaps in an exlusive set (since this would be mainly AFOL oriented) like this:

Small Park

a little park with a round wooden bridge over it, a kiosk, one or two brick-built weeping willows, two benchs, two park lights two dustbins and a small playground

including some ducks and swans, some food, some newspapers and a buggy

minifigs: boy, girl, grandfather, mother and femle shop owner

It could be even combined with or be included in a big exclusive City set such as the awesome 10184 Town Plan.

Wouldn't that be  ?!

That monorail is actually quite similar in operation to most real monorails, including Disney's----they all use rubber-tired wheels on top of a smooth beam way. Lego's monorails operate like a rack railway--this version is almost identical: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rack_railway#Locher

Hmmn---those pics give me a LOT of ideas. (While I'd love a new monorail above most anything else, a *Disney* Lego monorail would be even better---but that seems very unlikely so I'd have to make it myself----but getting the smooth-yet-pointed noses would be so critical to looking right, I think nothing but a unique and newly-molded piece would do---plus all the trapezoid and triangle windows)

While browsing BrickLink I cam across this set

1490-1.jpg

Even more interesting is that none are for sale currently

Curious on the subject of LEGO City Banks I did a search and 1490 (pictured above) and 6566 (pictured below) have been the only true City/Town Banks ever done

6566-1.jpg

Thus my next idea is

LEGO City Bank: $49.99

- Included is well built Bank

- inside features include safe and administrative offices and public area

- additionally there is an armored van/truck

- Minifigs include 2 new banker figs, 1 police armored van driver and 2 civilian figs

- some possible accessories are lots of green money tiles and gold coins

I think one Bank set should cover that area, also it gives something for LEGO crooks to actually rob

I agree in that a bank would be a nice addition. I'd love to buy the Mailman impulse if it was ever made - Impulse sets will easily be bought as they don't cost much and therefore more can be bought. I'd also but an icecream salesman, maybe a civilian or two (e.g. man with bike, kid on way to school etc.)

I'd quite like to see more 'civilian' buildings (e.g. warehouse, supermarket, car dealership) as well as some more 'train' ones., such as a repair depot.

Yay! Camping! That is a nice idea. I can see a camper with a hiking stick traveling to a covering like the Team-X ones that are blooming with a dog and a boy and a girl. And the parents. Those account would accomplish a abundant sets.

I'd like a set that features just the busstop found in City Corner. You could buy several and set up your own public transportation route in your city, without having to gather parts seperately or buy multiple City Corners. A seperate bus might also be nice, perhaps even one of those long bendy buses.

^That's a neat idea. They could be sold like TLC sold the battle packs, but instead it's a transit pack. Once again, a bank would be a solid investment as well.

Impulse idea:

Vending Machine $3.49

Includes vending machine (like 4456), soda bottles and fig

Some really good ideas, I like the car dealer and supermarket alot

Civilian is the way to go, most of them have also never been done

I totally agree with you, Macoco!

If you added a bank robber to your list for a bank set I bet that this one would sell very well among AFOLs as well as JFOLs!

I totally agree with you, Matt Dawson!

I, too, really do not understand why TLG doesn't release a post office, a grocery and a bank - which would be much more neccessary than again new Fire and Airport sets! :sadnew:

Impulse sets are imo great - why did TLG (nearly) stop making some for City?!

You're absolutely right, Rapseflaps!

I really like the 7641 City Corner - it is an awesome set! But our Lego Cities need more than only one bus and only one bus station.

Another set which contains a bus station and a bus would be great.

Or even a set which is "only" a bus and a bus station and comes with many different stickers so that you can buy several of these sets and then have several busses - one with line number 21, one with 22, one with 23, ... (like you can do several "different" train waggons with the Emerald Knight set and the stickers included in it).

I'd love a City Corner 2 next summer.

It could include a post office, a bank and a taxi stand. Maybe even an ice cream stand.

The buildings should be numbered like in City Corner, only continuing the count with 3 and 4.

Great idea. I indeed hope TLG continues these types of bigger sets (which remind me of legendary sets like Main Street).

I totally agree with Rick - this is really a great idea, Rapseflaps!

I would so much like to see some more civilian houses, shops, stands, vehicles, minifigs and accessory!

But since TLG firstly released the brilliant City Corner this summer I highly doubt that we'll see some sort of new Main Street already next summer. :sceptic:

But the exclusive TRU City set next summer surely will be great. TLG has been surprising us in the last years with a lot of awesome sets in many different themes  - we would never have expected them - so who knows?! - In the end we'll get another civilian set with some civilian buildings, too. Wishful dreaming.

As great additions to the great Farm theme I'd like to see:

Tractor With Log Loader

and

8284-01.jpg

(the important thing would be not the tractor but the hay turning machine)

Plus - since now we'll be getting green car doors with the Tank Truck - following set would be great:

Forester's High Seat

a high seat

including a green all-terrain vehicle, a gun, binoculars, a suitcase and a deer

minifig: forester

And of course all set wishes mentioned here and here would be awesome!

Post Headquarters - $59.99 USD

7 Minifigures: 4 Postmen, 2 Cashiers, and one civilian.

Includes:

Post Van (larger then the one released last year) with space to put letters and Packages, and a garage to put the post van in.

Three yellow bicycles with letter carriers on the rear of each one. The bicycles would have their own tiny shed near the garage.

In the building there would be shelves with packages, stamps, letters, and other stationary for purchase, two checkout counters, PO Boxes, separate drop-off boxes for packages and letters, about four delivery carts(2 yellow, 2 red), and more.

Not Sure if this has been posted...

Lego Office/Storefront System:

Lego Dentist

Law Firm

Accountant.

TLG could design a two or three building office space or loft type building and allow stickers (or tiles) options for signs for professional services like dentists and law firms.

Also:

Furniture store

Electronics Hut (with TV's, Washers/Dryers etc)

Hardware Store (lots of Lego Tools already available for inventory)

Department Store (Modular and expandable like Cafe Corner, think Macy's New York City)

Bring back News Teams (think News Station) and Electric/Power/Gas Company/Telephone (Need Utilities in the city, no more fire stations!)

I doubt whether these would be popular among kids

I also would like to see some variety in stores added to the City line. There seems to be a repair worker (lights) in the 2010 line-up.
