Pie108 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I'm picky. I need a mix to make me happy.Accuracy but no posability, equals a USC set that I wouldn't do much with except sit it on a shelf. Playability but no accuracy, equals... megablocks! :-P No... they don't have that much playability, either. So... I suppose it's accuracy first, but not without a touch of playability. The UCS thing isn't always true. Think about the Death Star Playset. Quote
prateek Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I choose accuracy for most sets but in some, like the Death Star Playset, Playability is important Quote
Oky Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Usually, I rather have accuracy than playability too, although some playability features are pretty neat, such as the way the AT-TE and AT-OT hook up to the dropship. Quote
Calanon Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I'd say accuracy. I also much prefer mini-fig scale, unless it's a really large thing like a Star Destroyer, Death Star or Juggernaut. Quote
harrysnapperorgans Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Accuracy for me. Let's face it, lego bricks is pretty cartoony, so it's nice to come up with something that has a tangeble sense of architechture to it, whether it's technic, town or star wars. But for me playablity is a part of accuracy - does this minifig fit in the vechicle?? Does the model fall apart every time you touch it? Is the gun in the correct (or close) scale to the fig? Quote
def Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Accuracy. I don't have the time to play with toys. The fully greebled sets like the Y-Wing and the Republic Cruiser were the ships that got me buying this stuff. 2008 was a decent year for accuracy in sets. Quote
Ras 74 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I choose accuracy for most sets but in some, like the Death Star Playset, Playability is important I would also say that accuracy is the most important.Since the DS is all about playability it is something different. But it is a good point never the less I don Quote
Raphy Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 It depends for what theme... but for Star Wars, accuracy. But for teh bestest theme, Racers, design. (Is design an option?) I feel that in sets, design is the most important factor... followed closely by playability. Quote
Eskallon Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I like both, there should be a balence between the 2 in my opinion. For some sets we should get a lot of accuracy and others playability and some others shuld have both. Having both means more people are happy and I myself will sometimes buy sets because of accuracy and others because of playability and even others just to collect. Quote
Rijkvv Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Accuracy. But sometimes playability is fine. The 10198 is not accurate, it has an interior but isn't even close to minifig scale. But the outside dimensions are good. I think one of the best sets that combines the two perfectly. Quote
Brickus Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I think the way they are doing the sets these days are fine, a mixture of accuracy and playability, but I tend to go towards accuracy, because I like the UCS sets the most. Quote
starwarsfanatic Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I think with Star Wars accuracy is most important, but other themes need playability. IMO the ultimate SW set would be accurate but have optional playability functions, depending on whether you got the 7-12 or 7-14 (using the age ratings TLG usually put on sets. I believe the highest is 16). But as long as the ship is accurate, it is a success in my books. Quote
The Crazy One Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I think they can work in harmony, but accuracy first. Quote
JCC1004 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Accuracy without a doubt. In some of the 2006 sets the flick fires fall out when you swoosh the ship. Being an AFOL I don't flick the missles at ships and such. The sets are intended for kids but some play fetures are just plain silly. They don't belong and get in the way. Some of the Technic mechanisms look really bad on a ship. Perhaps a poll could be added to this? Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 General playability options like troop carrying are a must, but if a vehicle like an AT-AT carries troops, then the Lego model should carry troops. Are you with me? Quote

So you're basically saying accuracy. Quote
filip skywalker Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I like it to be balanced, as long as the play features don't disturb the accuracy. Quote
