Mestari Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 [pid][/pid] 250C I've made a small vignette - pirates burying their "hard earned" treasure. I hope for more "leafy" tree next time, but I've used all of my leafs for that one ;) Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Nice little vignette, different from the usual 'Arhh, me burry that booty in the sand' behavior of most pirates. I like your depiction of different layers of ground on this small scale. The owl, however, looks suspicious, probably plotting to give away the position of the treasure for a... cookie? Better take care ! Regards Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted April 17, 2014 Governor Posted April 17, 2014 This is the first I've seen an owl used in pirate MOC! I hope for more "leafy" tree next time, but I've used all of my leafs for that one ;) Yes, a tree with more foliage is definitely in order! Usually the LEGO Pirates are amidst tropical surroundings, so what's the inspiration behind this type of tree? Quote
Mestari Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 Well... many pirates originate from European countries so I guess they must have been outside of their usual territories at least from time to time when they felt home sick :P I wanted to go away from the usual fir a moment. Quote
Sebeus I Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Nicely done, the landscape does suggest a inward land, far away from the coast but it looks good nonetheless. Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 This is a great little scene. I love the inland feel! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] Quote
Meiko Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Very nice! I like the tree the most. Trees are something I always have trouble giving volume to in LEGO, but you've certainly done a great job on this one. Quote
Morthen Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 This reminds me of an Youtube stop motion video. Of some pirates trying to byring their treassure. But first they have to buy an island, showels and so on. In the end, they dont have any treasure to bury. Back to the vignette. I love you've been able to cramp an entire forrest into the small eara. The tiny stream fits perfectly, and the slightly raised landscape just add to the whole "forrest feel" And the tree is "leafy" enogh as it is. Very nice moc. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 29, 2014 Governor Posted April 29, 2014 Well... many pirates originate from European countries so I guess they must have been outside of their usual territories at least from time to time when they felt home sick :P I wanted to go away from the usual fir a moment. Yes, very good sir! It's not often we see owls in Pirate MOCs although maybe an owl would make a good figurehead with a few additions to build it up. Is that a brown frog in the bottom right corner? Quote
TheLegoDr Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 It looks that way. It is a chocolate frog from Harry Potter. Odd that he used his one good jump to land there.. Quote
Mestari Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) Yes, it is, brown frog watching over its four other green fellas ;) Edited May 7, 2014 by Mestari Quote
