Wout Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 With three corner buildings already out. Have someone pictures of all buildings attaches to eachother as one block? Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I have all of them also! I am in the process of building my own modulars to fill the voids. I have 1 project about 90% done, 1 65% done, 1 40% done and 1 in the pre-lim stages. I'm just waiting for the brick link orders to come in. Quote

AncientDayz Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I have all but MS with a few doubles (GE x2, PC x2, PS x2.5). I could never get myself to get MS. It looks so inferior to the others, in my opinion. Quote
cocabottle Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I have them all but Green Grocer. Market street and Cafe Corner are bricklinked, 100% and 99% original respectively. I've also upgraded the Marketplace by tiling the floor and adding some more crates with fruits/carrots, any more people who did this? Quote
Stefano Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 It isn't the Dutch look of MS that bothers me. It's the thinness of the building compared to it's height that stands out most to me, but the short, squat, mostly-black market portion also looks ugly in combination with the blue/tan building. I actually thought the market part was a junkyard or graveyard the first several times I saw it. Then you add the relative lack of depth, front to back of the building and it starts to look even sillier to me. Cap that off with the completely unfurnished interior and horrible stairs-in-the-middle layout, and it just gets worse in my eyes. this ^^ Hmm well i have been weak and i had a large paycheck so i bought two extra FB and an extra GE last October(double points yeah) just to sell later mhuahaha, and with FB now around 75-100 euro more expensive than it used to be its not that bad of an investment :D and if i dont sell them later i can make a larger FB and GE :P but one thing i DO want is an extra Town Hall my largest problem with that one is its just to small Quote
smoothbit Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I have all the Modulars except Market Street, the reason being that even when it was only £60 I didn't like the look of it. Later I looked at buying it second hand, for completeness, but several hundred pounds for something I don't even like made even less sense. As for Café Corner I did buy that when it first came out but then lost it a few years later, so I bought it again on eBay for four times its original price O_o But from Green Grocer on I've got (and kept) them all. I also made a base for the Haunted House, it can be either a corner building or one in the middle of the street depending on which tiles you choose to use on the edge. …Someone recently posted a modular MOC of their childhood home, and I thought if he'd changed the colors to blue/tan, it would have been an excellent substitute for MS, especially with a tiny bit of tweaking to give it more of a dutch flavor. One of the biggest improvements over MS was the fact that it used more of the baseplate front to back. Maybe that was me? Here's the thread about my childhood home and of course it sits in among the other Modulars very nicely :) Quote
streifen Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I was lucky I came out (completely) from the dark age at the time of release of the start of the modulars. So I have the 1st three as well and very glad that I bought them at the retail price! Quote
paul_delahaye Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I have a full set, but I wish I had more dust free space to display them, they look awsome when you see pictures of them all together! Quote
Del Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 We have all except Market Street and Palace Cinema. Neither interested us enough to purchase. Doubled up on Green Grocer and Pet Shop. Once we had Café Corner we didn't really like the reddish brown and replaced all of that with dark tan and added another middle floor. Quote
LegoSjaak Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 For those who like to see a high quality video of all modulars in one street.... Quote
LAKAbricks Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I think it would be a great idea to make an OAM-club. Even though I don't own the nine modulars or ever will do that, I think it could be a funny idea for those of you who are the happy OAMs. And while you are doing that, I will enjoy my two modulars Quote
LegoSjaak Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) Fresh video of all 9 modulars together, including 4 XL versions. (one building made of two original sets) The table is 1.80 x 0.90 meters. Edited May 2, 2014 by LegoSjaak Quote

smoothbit Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) Here's how I currently have them displayed, with my own childhood home at the front because it's freshly built: Here's the road I built to go between the two sections: And here's what it will normally look like, with my chidhood home hidden from view: With three corner buildings already out. Have someone pictures of all buildings attaches to eachother as one block? I also made a base for the Haunted House, it can be either a corner building or one in the middle of the street depending on which tiles you choose to use on the edge. I took them all down off the shelf and, using the Haunted House as a fourth corner, here's a complete block: I've made a few alterations, such as placing all the lampposts on 2x2 black plates to match the Parisian Restaurant, using 1x2 tiles to join the curbs, and changing the US flag to the German one, but mostly they're stock. I do plan to populate the streets with minifigs soon though, it looks a little deserted right now. Edited May 2, 2014 by smoothbit Quote
badbob001 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 (edited) I took them all down off the shelf and, using the Haunted House as a fourth corner, here's a complete block: Did you mirror the layout of the Haunted House when building it? Any particular reason for that? Edited May 3, 2014 by badbob001 Quote
Wodanis Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Well the first modular I bought was the Grand Emporium. I'm committed to attaining them all. Currently I have 6/9. BnP'd GG and CC, planning to do MS sometime. However I really need to pick up PR and PC. I'd love to have duplicates but I'm on a tight budget. Quote
smoothbit Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Did you mirror the layout of the Haunted House when building it? Any particular reason for that? I did, yes. When I got it in between Town Hall and Palace Cinema I thought it would be more challenging to build it mirrored, flipping it as I followed the instruction manual rather than using a flipped PDF or even a real mirror. I intended to rebuild the previous modulars and then build all new modulars in this way, but then didn't take time to rebuild and didn't want them to mismatch. I did flip the Mini Modulars though, they were much faster to do :) Quote
timmyc1983 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I think all OAMs should get an official Eurobricks button to go under our member number I really want one but will never win a contest, this is probably the only way I will ever get one Quote
LegoSjaak Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Let´s ask the moderator.....Rick...can we get a button for this..??? Quote
slovakiasteph Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 (edited) I think FB was on the market when I came out of my Dark Ages (and I think it was my first modular?); I bricklinked CC, GG, and MS, although I only built the house part of MS; didn't like the look of the market part. Still have to get TH and PR, but I will! Didn't realize so many others had bricklinked the first 2 or 3 modulars. ETA: I have the mini modulars, too! I think I bought those thinking I wouldn't get all the full-sized modulars...must've been delusional at the time. ;) Edited May 3, 2014 by slovakiasteph Quote
Rick Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Let´s ask the moderator.....Rick...can we get a button for this..??? Most tags are awarded for certain accomplishments. Spending money isn't really an accomplishment. Quote
LegoSjaak Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 (edited) Most tags are awarded for certain accomplishments. Spending money isn't really an accomplishment. Before being able to acquire the modulars, i put a lot of effort in my work to earn money to spend it on modulars...... and getting all modulars together these days is quite an accomplishment itself! Besides that i have made 5 XL versions of modulars..... anyway, i can imagine there is no tag for having all modulars together.. On the other hand...why not.. it is fun to see more EB-ers with different tags... In this way it is possible to see what member we speak with when we see a variety of tags under his avatar...... Have a nice weekend!! Greetz, LegoSjaak Edited May 3, 2014 by LegoSjaak Quote
Johan the Yellowhead Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 As owner of all the modulars (and not having made any MOC's or MOD's whatsoever) I still have to agree with Rick. Buying modulars is not an accomplishment, it's just a matter of spending money and following instructions. And although I like the MODded modulars, it really isn't the same thing as someone using his or her own creativity to create a whole new building... Quote
