Etzel Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 After being freed from the bandits by the Mitgardian Cavalry, Shivering Ettu was accompanied by the captain to the house of the nearest lord. That happened to be the house of Sir Uldain, Lord of Bleywood, an old and proud patriarch who constantly complained about the Guild's central government in Valholl. His loyalty has been questioned before, but so far he has always kept his word and acted according to the decree from the Jarl, although often with a grumpy face. Ettu was a bit nervous before meeting the lord after the captain of the riders had told these things. However, it turned out that Sir Uldain was very interested in Ettu and his stories from the far north and invited him to stay at his house for as long as he wanted. Ettu accepted gladly since that would mean he had a great opportunity to learn about the culture and people of the south Mitgardia. I wonder what Ettu will do next, now when he has finally arrived in a southern Mitgardian town. I guess we just have to wait and see. /Etzel Quote
Wat Tambor Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 You are certainly a very fast builder and a good one too. Again, a very nice build to continue the story of Ettu. The hall is well done and feels quite cozy, I really like that. The building technique of the fireplace is also very creative. May I ask you where the fur on the ground is from? It looks superb and fits great for Mitgardian places like a lord's hall. Quote
Kai NRG Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Another set of excellent MOCs here, very good job particularly on the interior. Great work! Quote
HammerBro Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Lovely interior! The fire place mosaic is beautiful and the bear rug is great! Quote
de Gothia Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Great work Etzel! I really like the dk blue touch to the whole thing! The interior part is so good!! You are on a roll now! To bad you didn´t join Avalonia! ;) Quote
Gideon Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Both the exterior and the interior are excellent! I especially like the details on the interior wall and the (Duplo?) fur on the floor Quote
Scaevola Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Nicely done! The interior (cheese slopes ) and door are very well executed. However, I would have liked to see more variation in the exterior walls Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Excellent MOC! Love the use of the Highlander guy, don't see enough of him! Brilliant interior too, the details are great! Quote
Etzel Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 Thank you very much! I actually built this before the previous chapter of Ettu's adventures, so I've had the pictures ready to put out for a while. I'm quite pleased with the MOC of the Hall, it was a fun build and I liked the way the colors work together. The wall and gate works too, but could be done better. I see now that it's a bit too flat, I should have moved the gatehouse out a few studs and broken up the walls with some damaged/discoloreds stones. May I ask you where the fur on the ground is from? It looks superb and fits great for Mitgardian places like a lord's hall. One of my favorite parts: the Duplo Bearskin Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Is the hall a seperate MOC, or the uper floor of the gate? I do like the bearskin rug, and the wall mosaic in the hall! Quote
Infernum Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Great color combinations for the gate! Dark green and dark tan look great together, as do the dark bluish grey and brown! The interior is great too! Love the use of that bearskin piece and the wood arches! Quote
MKJoshA Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I love how you've made blue/gold a house color in addition to the green/yellow for Mitgardia. I've been wanting to do something like that myself for awhile but haven't evolved the idea fully. It's cool to see someone's rendition of that idea. And these builds are incredible! Quote
Etzel Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 Is the hall a seperate MOC, or the uper floor of the gate? I do like the bearskin rug, and the wall mosaic in the hall! It's a separate MOC. I teared down the wall to make the hall with the same pieces. Quote
Hammerhand Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Love this build! Your ground texturing is great, and the building in the first picture is really cool. I like the hinged opening window/wall you included. And great work with the cheese slope wall mosaic! I can never seem to make one work, so I applaud those that can. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I like how large the gate is and the wooden shutters are a neat touch The interior is great as well, especially the windows, mosaic, and bear rug Quote
Torgar Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Excellent moc, I love the colors. The overall atmosphere is really nice too, it feels very mitgardian. Quote
robuko Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Very nice moc. The simple and plain exterior looks very typical, and the interior details are lovely. The shield is brilliant and that bearskin Quote
