xwingyoda Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 *wub* Pardon my ignorance on all these follow ups, but is there a new "season" of the Clone Wars ? When are they suppose to be placed in the PT ? I have both Clone Wars DVDs, and it ends with GG getting force chocked loool So is it suppose to be after that ? or its a kind of prequel to the first Clone Wars ? And this has nothing to do with the upcomming TV series right ? For a nerd, I am so lost :-D Oh well, I am sure that my Dart Lord *vader* will show me the light of Dartness :-P *yoda* Quote
Vader Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 Well as the clone wars cartoon ended just before the start of ep 3, i believe this is set sort of inbetween the second series. Kinda strange but hey we should get to see alot more of the war, hopeflly we might get more grevious also. As far as i know this series has nothing to do with the live action series that lucas is making. Quote

I'm afraid...he isn't anymore :-/ You've heard about the two for-TV movies that are coming out, right? Well word has it that they're REPLACING the 100 one-hour-long episodes :'-( Quote
Scouty Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Wait...what? Poster: That CGI format looks ok, I don't like it very much though. Quote
CopMike Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 From Star Wars Insider #93 page 9: Clone Wars animated TV series takes place between Ep II & Ep III. George Lucas stated that the plan is to run 100 episodes. A new young female Padawan named Osoka will be featured and possible a appearance of a young Boba Fett. Premiere in 2008. The poster is okay :-/ - I like the old 2D look better X-D! Clone On copmike Quote
DoubleT Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Yes i agree my swedish friend, but lets see how it is... he he *vader* Quote
JoeMI6 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I don't see how much more story there is to tell. But let's hope it's as good, if not better than the animated series. Quote
DoubleT Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Well Spidey 3 had the sameproblem i think, but im sure they will find stories. Or make some Star Trek like ones, where they talk alot he he Quote
Scouty Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Well, I think they should have done the story after the rise of the Empire. The Dark Lords quest to find everybody. Quote
DoubleT Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 He he a Star Wars version of Finding Nemo...... called Finding Jedi.... Quote
zero1312 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Well, I think they should have done the story after the rise of the Empire. The Dark Lords quest to find everybody. I think that's right. I've read on Wikipedia that the TV series takes place in the 19 years between episode III and episode IV. ;-) Quote
Starwars4J Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 No, no, no, I wasn't talking about the Clone Wars TV eps, the plans originally called for 100 one-hour episodes of a LIVE-ACTION TV series...which was scrapped in place of 2 for-TV movies :-/ Quote

JINZONINGEN73 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Just as well Lucas ditched the live action series running long. He's the same fruitcake who popped out the 3 last awful movies AND has said that he thinks "Empire Strikes Back" was the worst one. The man is freaking BONKERS... a hack who got extremely lucky on an innovative franchise. Quote
Plural Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Does anybody know who the person at the back is with the green lightsaber? Or is that the new padawan person. Quote

Meaning he'd have very little artistic control over it. People would run things by him, but he wouldn't be that involved...it was rumored Spielberg would finally get a chance to direct one of the episodes! What a loss :'-( Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I'm confused. I heard there was going to be a 100-episode LIVE action tv show, set between episodes 3 and 4. Is this 100-episode animated series in replacement to this? Because I dislike all animated stuff. Or are the two new movies replacing the live action show? So, is it movies and animated, or movies, animated and live action? Please let it be that there's still a live action tv show. Quote
Plural Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Behold the horror It says somewhere in here that Lucas wants to make it a comedy. :-( Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 ^^^ Yup, like I said. A HACK. A most clueless, annoying one. And arrogant. Anything he doesn't do completely by himself he always calls junk, no matter how good it was. Yeah, so people loved the first 2 movies, put up with the 3rd, then vomited on the last 3 for being too corny. So his answer? Turning the serious and violent Clone Wars cartoon over into a smartassed comedy? The HELL? The man's senile. What a loss cry4.gif Ah, didn't think of it like that. You're right. Still... there's a high chance it would've partially emulated the last 3 movies... perhaps it's just not meant to be yet. Or at all. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 I'm sorry about this. My jaw just dropped and I couldn't pick it up without saying this. OMFGWTFBBQ? What is the man smoking? I mean, I know the Clone Wars cartoons were humerous before but to be a 'smart megablocks comedy' it'll have to be either really good or bad (as we know it will be if Lucas is writing it.) Quote

That's what I've been trying to say the whole time. Originally there was a plan for TWO series: 1. Live-action show, 100 episodes, each 1 hour. Different directors. 2. New Clone Wars animations This recently GOT CHANGED to: 1. Two for-TV movies 2. New Clone Wars animations They DROPPED the live-action in favor of two movies >:-( Quote
Jipay Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Wezll I can't blame mr Lucas, he probably thought it was better to wait until I'm a fully grown director, and then lemme do the job. Or not I can't say I'm disappointed. I'm just so fed up with SW, I wouldn't be able to watch one minute of it again. Heck I didn't even buy episode 3 on dvd. And let's face it, there are some great TV series outside, with some real humour, like SG or atlantis among others, so the standard is set high. I definitly GL should move on something else. Quote
