Holodoc Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Hi everybody! I believe it's time to heaten up the remaining days with a nice tradition: The annual countdown until the beginning of the event. The countdown won't start right now - it's still 15 days, so don't complain - but I want to give some background information from today on what you can expect. Just to tease you and to water you mouths. Today I'll show you what the 'spirit' of every single day from 10 to 0 is going to be: Simple - it's our 10th event. Quote
CopMike Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 An Eurobricks tradition that just keeps coming :-)! Looking good there Doc, can't wait (but I have to!) to see the actual countdown! Quote
Holodoc Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 So what is this 10 about? The countdown once again will be held as quiz. (Do I hear "hurray"? ) The host of this quiz (revealed later) will on each day show a set which is somehow related to "10", may it be the number of sold sets of that kind or whatever came to my crazy mind. Your task will be to find out how/what the relation to 10 is. That's it for today - stay tuned. Quote
WhiteFang Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Can't wait!!! I am actually very excited to be part of this! Quote
Rolli Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Just two weeks from now! Excited! Let the countdown-games begin Quote
Redhead1982 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Is there really a set with only 10 copies sold? The host of this quiz (revealed later) will on each day show a set which is somehow related to "10", may it be the number of sold sets of that kind or whatever came to my crazy mind. Looking forward to the quiz, though. Quote
Holodoc Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 And now I'm proud to present you the host of this show. It's none other than the fabulous, magnificent and good-looking MINILAND Holodoc : Quote
Skalldyr Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Hooray! You are indeed looking very good Mr. Miniland Holodoc! Quote
Redhead1982 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Hello, Mr. Miniland Holodoc! Nice to meet you. Quote
Legogal Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Nice looking guy. Have we met him? (Just kidding!) Quote
Holodoc Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 The rules: Find out, what the connection of the shown set to 10 is. - find the same relation that came to my mind and you'll receive 3 points. - find other facts related to 10 and you'll receive 1 point for each fact. The participant with the most points at day zero wins. (who would have thought) Quote
mechamike Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Besides that, nice build, and looking forward for the countdown! Quote
CopMike Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 And now I'm proud to present you the host of this show. It's none other than the fabulous, magnificent and good-looking MINILAND Holodoc : Great one Doc !A mod maybe like this ? Quote
Holodoc Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 Besides that, nice build, and looking forward for the countdown! Did you ever see a MINILAND figure with face? Great one Doc ! A mod maybe like this ? Great idea, but I am referring to this suit: Quote
Holodoc Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Will there be a prize? Yes, the winner may choose one of these: So let's get ready, the countdown starts tomorrow! Quote
Holodoc Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Sorry for the delay, but in all glory here is the first set/day of the countdown: The question is: What is the relation to "10"? The countdown has started - that means we are just 10 days away from the best time in the year - Wohooo! Quote
Rolli Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Its set number is 21010, featuring two "10"s. Also it is the 10th architecture set? Quote
mechamike Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 oh.. and i thought that it was because this is the only set that has exactly 10 Dark Bluish Gray Plate 6 x 10 in it.. but Your explanation seems more right Rolli Quote
Legogal Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 It took me about ten hours to build this set because it has about ten thousand one by one dark red tiles, which look wonderful btw! (Please tell me I won as the first answer was way too obvious!) Quote
Redhead1982 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Besides the most obvious - set number has two 10 - the set also has exactly 10 black 1x8 plates, 10 dark bluish grey 6x10 plates, and 10 dark red 1x1 bricks. In addition, if the re-release of Sears tower (renamed to Willis Tower, but with the same catalog number) counts as one set, that also makes The Robie house the 10th Architecture set released. But it seems Rolli already beat me to that. Quote
Holodoc Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Yup, for the beginning I chose the obvious. The setnumber of Robie House is 21010 (2 times 10 ) Points: 4 for Rolli 1 for mechamike 0 legal point for Legogal, but 1 point of honour (worth actually nothing, but hey - nice try ) 2 points for Redhead Quote
