I'm old enough to have watched a lot of Flintstones as well, and I'm sort of surprised it hasn't been done yet.  And for what it's worth, this is exactly the set that I imagine LEGO would have produced if they ever did a Flintstones set.

4!

Might as well count down 3 .. 2 .. 1 .. made it. (Come back in the future and read this).

And now it’s hit 10k. Congrats!

That makes a full ten projects for the batch coming together, with what appear (at least to me) to be plenty of viable options and strong contenders. The results of this one should be exciting (when they’re announced, five or six or seven months from now...).

And where is Voltron already!?!? 2 years since reaching 10000 already, it's a long time for us to wait. I hope it's worth it

IKR?

I wonder if the project was cancelled or pushed back, because that's just too much

Licensing issues won't be a problem. There was a Flintstones environment you could time travel to in LEGO Dimensions.

Same with Red Dwarf, which also had a LEGO Ideas that was rejected as well. I wonder why?

Its entirely possible the Red Dwarf Ideas set passed the "can we get a license" thing but not the "will it sell enough to make money" thing.

Probably because Red Drawf is on Dave now, so its audience is tiny.

Yes

To clarify, May 7th is the cutoff date for the current batch (when it closes and a new batch begins). The next review results will probably be some weeks after that.

Ah. Ok :)

I know we're all anxious about Voltron, but we just need to relax.  There are a lot of moving parts on this.

Yes, it's been two years.  But you have to remember - it was one of the fastest to reach 10K, and did it in about 3 weeks time.  And reached 10k about 12 hours after the cutoff for a review period.  So we had to wait 4 months for it even to go into the review stage!  Then we had to wait two reveals before it even got announced as successful.  That right there took a year.

Beyond that, you've got multiple rights holds (USA holders and Japanese holders).  You've got animated series on Netflix that has a schedule.  They're going to want to time it just right.  For all we know, they may want to do a reveal at Comic Con.  Or put it on sale at Comic Con.  Lot of crossover marketing that can be done there.

I think LEGO also learned a lesson with Doctor Who - they put it out there, right as one series ended, and there was nothing on TV for over a year to support the set.

Also, this is one of the largest Ideas sets to ever be produced.  The set needs to be designed just right.  I'm sure a lot of time is going into those fine details to balance playability, etc.

I've waited this long.  I can wait a little bit longer.  (But, I get it...I'm anxious too!)

I hope this set comes out as wonderful as it could be. Only hope to have a place to show it :)

A lot of people will also buy 2.

Another factor regarding Voltron is that LEGO and the IP owner need to deal/communicate/talk with the other companies who have rights to make Voltron merchandise to make sure what LEGO comes up is going to be acceptable to those other companies and to what those other companies make.

Don't worry about cancellation or push back, Voltron is coming. Just hang in there for a little longer!

The tension is building!

I was hoping for an announcement back in early March when the last season became available.  Now I'm hoping we hear something on or around June 15th when the next season drops.  Seems like the perfect time for it.

Sweet! :sweet::thumbup:

The deadline for the lastest review was yesterday

These are the projects that will be reviewed

I like the Treehouse and Flintstones, but I think the Vintage Motorcycle is more likely.

I'm so happy the Flintstones made it. I've been following it for more than a year. I really hope it gets made. It's a no brainer for me, but the review board works in mysterious ways.

Hmmm... three planes in this batch.

There are lots of great projects here.
