Definitely, but looking at the projects I would say that there is little to no conflict between the 2. Voltron is the combined lion robot, while the Power Rangers is the minifigures in their base. I'd say there's room for both. Quote
Exetrius Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 What existing pieces could be used for the Power Ranger's shoulder gear and helmets, I wonder? In fact, the creator is proposing new pieces here... Quote

StarWars8Spoiler Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Is that a shadow of one of the minifigures we're seeing in the teaser? Quote
jonwil Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 If the Apollo rocket comes with astronaut minifigs (either the real astronauts or just generic astronaut figs if they cant get the rights for the real likenesses) then I am SO there. Quote
Artanis I Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Is the rocket in minifig/system scale? I've heard it's huge. That lunar module is not. Quote
grove Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 (edited) Probably not. A Saturn V was 110.6 metres high, in 1:50 (small end of what can be called minifig scale) that would be 2.2 metres, that would be approximately double up of the original idea, which was already so large many believed that would hinder approval. And the number of bricks needed to build it in that size... Edited April 10, 2017 by grove Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 According to the teaser image of the upper portion of the rocket, the capsule itself which held the three astronauts is basically a 2x2 in diameter at the base. Therefore it is definitely not in either minifig or microfig scale. My guess is they will do two or three minifigs to represent the crew. The original submission used two minifigs, so I guess we will find out soon what they decided to use in the final design. Quote

To me the teaser image pretty clearly shows a command module that's 4x4 at its base? Granted, it wouldn't have any room inside due to presumably being a solid 4x4x2 cone, but the diameter seems reasonably accurately scaled to the height of a minifigure trophy. Real Neil Armstrong height: 1.80 meters Real command module diameter: 3.91 meters (2.172 x Neil's height) LEGO trophy fig height (head to toe, not counting base): 4 plates/1.28cm LEGO command module diameter: 4 studs/3.2 centimeters (2.5 x trophy fig's height) If anything, the command module on the set is a bit bigger than it needs to be, but at this sort of scale it's a difference of less than a plate and a half diameter, so not really consequential Edited April 10, 2017 by Aanchir Quote
jonwil Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/155367 has now hit 10k. Its a great set and I would buy one (both because I like it and because I support the "sun safe" message the set pushes) but with https://brickset.com/sets/60153-1/People-Pack-Fun-at-the-Beach comming out later this year, I fear the set will be knocked back. Elysiumfountain Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 WHAAATT??? When I checked Ideas at 11 last night, it was only at 8354! Congrats to the builder, although I'm not sure how well it might do against the LEGO Review. Ah well, I still cling to hope for my little projects... :) Quote
JGuy Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I think the draw of Surf Rescue is the story behind it... I think it's a fun little set and I might buy one, if only to support the creator (he has Stage IV skin cancer and wants to raise awareness about sun safety) Quote
x105Black Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I'm so excited that this Idea is so close. If it get's through, it will need changes to make it feasible. Most notably, it will likely need a reduced piece count and an interior. Still, seeing something that looks like it could be in a Castle theme get so close to 10k is encouraging. Quote

I don't really think that's going to pass the review... They would pretty much need to re-design the whole set. The final version would look nothing the submission, and that's not what Ideas is meant to be. Like the idea, though Quote

peedeejay Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Cool to see a medieval styled house receiving 10k supporters, but I highly doubt that this would make it pass the review, even though I would love to see it being turned into a set. Quote
Exetrius Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/1-blog/post/137 It's here! 1900-something bricks, standing a meter tall, including all the functionality of the original project and only.. €119,99 ! Insane! Edited April 28, 2017 by Exetrius Quote
