jonwil Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Yeah the number of CMF parts ending up in regular sets is surprising. But still, making the assumption that something like the Bagpipes from the S7 Bagpiper or the Mask from the S11 Islander or the Instrument Case from the S5 Gangster or the Handsaw from the S13 Carpenter are OK to use in an Ideas set might be a risky proposition. fred67 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 This project reached the 10000 supporters today. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/86638 I wouldn't buy it, but I think it's pretty neat. Quote
ShaydDeGrai Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I wouldn't buy it, but I think it's pretty neat. I don't know how marketable the '200 dominoes' aspect of this project would be (that's 600 parts and a highly repetitive build right there) but the marble run/not-quite great ball contraption is certainly something they could do in a ~500 piece version and be both fun to build, interesting to display and cool to interact with. I also know a few GBC fans out there that would probably welcome an official kit or two in the hopes of: a) raising awareness / inspiring a new generation of GBC MOC'ers, and b) getting more soccer balls in production. jonwil Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Great that it made it to 10k. Anyone want to speculate on whether it could be turned into a viable set? Next to Slimer, its gotta be the most recognizable ghost in the entire Ghostbusters universe (probably why it ended up in the Dimensions Fun Pack) and I bet a lot of people would buy one (especially if it added some extra figs as well like Louis and Dana) I for one would definatly buy one (just like I am very much interested in the Dimensions GB sets) Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Cool! Is it too early to make a thread for the Labyrinth Marble Maze set? Quote
XAxles Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) Is it too early to make a thread for the Labyrinth Marble Maze set? I would say that I am not qualified to answer that question, but then, I started the F40 thread immediately after the set name and code dropped in the leak-drop.My take: take your time. fred67 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Wow... if they chose Stay Puft, I wouldn't bother with the Dimensions set (since that's minifigure size anyway). I would rather pay $50 for this than $15 for a dimensions set I only want the figure from. Quote

jonwil Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I too wouldn't bother with Dimensions for Mr Stay Puft if this gets the green light (only for Slimer unless the pack with the Ecto contains something really worth having) Quote
Artanis I Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 They won't make this. If it was half the size, that would be a stronger possibility. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 They won't make this. If it was half the size, that would be a stronger possibility. Actually, I think it has chances Maybe if they redesign it with just half of the pieces, because 1800 pieces is too much. Quote

Robert8 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 The Hobbit-Rivendell project reached the 10000 supporters today: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/91654 We all know what will happen with this one.... Quote
jonwil Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I think its a fairly safe bet that any Hobbit or LOTR projects that get to 10k wont pass review (no matter what the size). Quote
fred67 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 It's an absolutely beautiful MOC that stands ZERO chance of being selected and, if it ever was, I would never be able to afford it. It's one of those non-starter MOCs that I don't understand why they even allow it. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) It seems this is the actual set: Those pics above are just a fancy (and misleading ) display Edited August 22, 2015 by Robert8 Quote

When will people learn that projects based on licenses/themes LEGO has already done and ended and crazy huge MOCs won't be made into Ideas sets? Quote
dr_spock Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 It's an absolutely beautiful MOC that stands ZERO chance of being selected and, if it ever was, I would never be able to afford it. It's one of those non-starter MOCs that I don't understand why they even allow it. Maybe Ideas team only has the authority to reject submissions that don't meet the basic House Rules like violence, alcohol... If it gets to 10K review, then they involve the other departments like legal, IP licensing, production, marketing, etc. Labour costs for that skill set may be too costly to review every submission right off the bat. jonwil Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Even that actual set picture is far too large to make into a viable set. Quote
BirdOPrey5 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Why would they not allow it? Every set that doesn't break rules is just more advertising for Lego Ideas and therefore free advertising for Lego. You figure at least the set creator probably shares it on social media, even if no one else does. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Today, Indominus Rex got 10k supporters! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/106086 This is the third project created by senteosan to achieve the review stage on LEGO Ideas Quote
BrickJagger Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 It seems this is the actual set: Those pics above are just a fancy (and misleading ) display Yeah, that one's not getting anywhere. It's a beautiful Moc, but the "set" itself is just a collection of bottomless buildings. It's also still way to big to be considered. Quote
Phoxtane Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) Yeah, that one's not getting anywhere. It's a beautiful Moc, but the "set" itself is just a collection of bottomless buildings. It's also still way to big to be considered. Don't forget twenty-one licensed figures. Apart from the figure packs and the chess sets from a while back, I can't think of any 'normal' set that had that many figures, let alone licensed ones. Try 10188, the Death Star playset (24 figures) and 7662, Trade Federation MTT (21 figures), actually. Both of which aren't cheap sets nowadays! There's also Ewok Village in there as well. They're all Star Wars themed sets. The presentation is just cringe-worthy, there's no way anybody would look at that first image and assume that they only get the buildings on the giant mountainside, not the whole thing... it smells of "here's my cool MOC that I built to show off how much money I can devote to the hobby". Not to mention it clashes with the fact that it's already a Lego theme. Edited August 26, 2015 by Phoxtane Quote
