Blondie-Wan Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 To me, waiting for the set details is worse. I'd rather see what it looks like in advance than wait ages and the details be announced a month before release. LEGO should know better than to leave it last minute. "Last minute" would be revealing it by putting it on sale. If they reveal it even a couple weeks earlier, it wouldn't be last minute. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 "Last minute" would be revealing it by putting it on sale. If they reveal it even a couple weeks earlier, it wouldn't be last minute. Disagree. A last minute reveal to me would be a month before it's about to be released. Quote

Tariq j Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I think the other you've got to remember as well, is that there is a more to an Ideas set than Just tweaking it a bit and sending it to all the stores, they have design the instructions carefully, design the box art for the set, and stickers (if there are any) they have to finalize things with BBC. They have to test the strength, design and durability of the set, there's alot that goes into making just one set. Also, another thing you have to consider, which alot of people on this board forget, early pictures of sets, whatever form they may be in, are a privilege not a right, there is no law stating Lego has to show us pictures before they release a set. And to be fair, Lego have not abandoned us completely when it comes to Doctor Who, we have got, and will be getting, some Dimensions Packs. Which I think give us a substantial teaser as to what we can expect in the overall product. I wouldn't consider a month last minute, I personally think its plenty of time to decide whether I will buy it or not. Quote
Kaanere Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 You can allways buy it some time later. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 You can allways buy it some time later. Actually, I'm hoping my parents will buy it for me as a Christmas list. That doesn't solve the problem that I'm an adult who still enjoys creating Christmas lists and so long as LEGO don't release details, the set isn't up for pre-order so you can't include Amazon links. What is stopping you from simply telling them? Is there a mandate stating your Christmas list is limited to an Amazon wishlist? Quote

CM4Sci Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Anyone else think we should have this renamed LEGO Ideas Discussion or something? Quote
Lyichir Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Anyone else think we should have this renamed LEGO Ideas Discussion or something? The current name is a bit dated, isn't it... Quote
Robert8 Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Anyone else think we should have this renamed LEGO Ideas Discussion or something? I asked for that here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=33497&st=75#entry2229508 But I got no answer about it. I guess that means NO Quote

Me too, and I worried that they will not be technology savvy enough to get in time or maybe it will sell out ... I can see what will happen I will ask for it and I will have to buy myself a backup set just incase it doesn't work out... which kinda seems to miss the point of a christmas present :-( Quote
MAB Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 'Telling' isn't the same as the fun of composing a Christmas list with Amazon links. How about putting this on your list "LEGO IDEAS - Dr Who, set number TBA, price TBA." You can even find out the set number now (with added fun). Quote

Robert8 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Which survey is that? Is there a link? You just need to go to the LEGO Ideas page and log in and you will see the invitation and the link Quote
KristofBD Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Same here: not available. Pretty strange. Quote
THERIZE Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 It was available for me. Yeah win a LEGO Ideas set. I didn't even bother. Quote
XAxles Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 OK, I'm torn between the blue 'Vette and the Caterham. I wanna see both pass, but... well, I guess the modularity of the latter would carry it through. Quote
