UrbanErwin Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I haven't banned anyone. My brother couldn't care less about my Lego and my parents are always afraid to break stuff when they touch something so they ask advice on how to pick something up. Quote
KotZ Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I actually have banned quite a few people. About seven (I think) years back my brother and I banned this kid who was about my brother's age because literally everything he toucheded seemed to break. Everything. The 7622 MTT broke at the touch somehow. About three years ago we had to ban my cousin (who was about second grade at the time and we were much older) who mercilleslly destroyed about a third of each of our collections, even after we had warned him to not ram vehicles into walls, etc. Luckily no pieces or minifigures cracked. emilstorm Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I have banned pretty much everybody :) some of my creations are pretty delicate, so nobody is allowed near them :) some if the more kid friendly stuff I have given to my nephews. Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 My Cat. Honestly, he just can't stop smashing the city to bits or swatting minifigures around, so he's "banned", though the language barrier is a bit of a problem. Quote

I have had that problem too, for some reason my cat, who does not at all care for cuddles, would constantly demand my attention when i was near my beloved bricks Quote
Phrea Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 My help, who comes a couple of hours once a week can't touch my LEGO. She's like a bull in a china shop when it comes to my LEGO ! Quote
talos Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 My niece comes over every so often and last time she had a car inside the Haunted House and swapped minifig heads on about half of them..haha, it was OK, she put most of it back the way she found it. I did find an extra broom from somewhere, I still haven't figured out where it came from/which set it goes to... :-) I am not going to ban her from touching things, its fun to show her what I have new. Dharkan Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 If anyone acting like untamed monkeys, I ban them no matter what the age. Seriously, you can't be like "heh toy. Can I swoosh and smash it?" LEGO is a toy, yes, but it is also a hobby. I couldn't care less about someone who does not respect my hobby. But still, lately I didn't have to do that, in fact I can't remember when was the last time I had to hide my LEGO. Quote
emilstorm Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 "heh toy. Can I swoosh and smash it?" I have the rule: If you want to swoosh, do it with your own damn Lego Quote
Kivi Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 My children have their own bricks, yet (surprise, surprise ) they mostly prefer mine. Therefore I had to impose some restrictions on playing with my collection, mostly in the terms that they should learn to be aware that the pieces can get broken or lost if being handled carelessly. I have already got used that sometimes they take the sorted pieces (usually the smallest ones) and mix them all together, though. Quote
theman4090 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I banned my little cousins, after they pushed Star wars Slave 1, Republic frigate, lego city airport, garbage truck and harbour off of my shelf. Needless to say, they regretted it when they lost all their pocket money, no more LEGO for two months (except B-days and Christmas) and a scolding. It was obvious they did it on purpose, since they were laughing, and ran up to the shelf to push it off. I guess it was just kids being kids. Quote
Saint Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Well.... this week we have some workman over, because of an overhaul done to the bathroom... I secured the room with plastic foil and tape, and innocent me, thought it was allright.... untill 2 days in, the plumber ( not Joe ) came in an had to be in my room..... ( 7 o'clock in the morning, fresh out of bed... not the best time to give me bad news ) .. after a heated discussion, I had to pull an aera free... and tape the plastic back after he was done.... Not very nice .... but it's done... so they don't have to visit the room anymore... My neighbour from 1 door over was even more crossed than me... he had to break down 1/3 of this model train track because of the same problem.... So in short, you can ban everyone from your room... but when push comes to shove.... ain't nothig you can do about it. grtz Saint Quote
grum64 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 My daughter in law is banned from going anywhere near my models for much the same reason I wouldn't give a machine gun to a monkey. There'd be carnage! Quote
LOTRfan Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Luckily most of my friends are into lego (not 4-year old kid kind of into), so they know not to use Orthanc as a lance Quote
Seltz Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Thankfully I haven't had to, though sometimes my lego sets perambulate through the house due to my mom. She thinks my custom Belbullab 22, with its checkering of tan and brown, belongs as a centerpiece on the shelf. Which is an honor, as she's got a great eye for style. But the Archeticture Guggenhime I bought is hers. It's hers. Forever. ;~; Quote
