I'll have to wait to watch the video, but those always make me want to buy the set whether or not I wanted to originally. I ended up getting the VW camper van and the Sopwith Camel after watching the videos even though I had no interest in them originally.

The set itself look neat. My daughter will love it. She loves the last winter village set.

I don't like the constant rehash of figures in these city sets. Buy a few Winter Village and Modulars and you have all of these figures (minus the sick face).

I'm sure I'll get one eventually, but there are too many other exclusives that may sell out first that I need to get.

Not sure I love this set, but it is pretty cool. I really like the price. The thing that's off in my opinion is how it's a whole bunch of separate little pieces. I'm not a fan when sets are like that. Still, I understand why it's like that. :classic:

It's a very clever and colorful set. It'll be great for playability - driving into town, unloading the ride in the center of town, then having all the mini-figs coming to ride, then packing it all up at the end of the weekend.

It's a great addition to the center of town for a "weekend" carnival - it's cool how it all packs onto the trucks.

I say it's a great set; but, I'm going to pass on this one and put my money towards the Mini-Cooper, Benny's Space Ship, and the Ghostbusters car.

Wow! *oh2* This is a really great set ... I am impressed by all those little details and how they integrate into one single whole. Must. Have. One. Two.

Lego got you under its spell or something? :D

Yes. Expelliarmus. Imperio!

Seems a bit overpriced I think. 400pieces more than the VW camper and £40 more expensive but 300pieces less than the pet shop which is the same price. £99.99 would have been better.

My favourite part is the grey female hair.

That's already out, actually, and wasn't originally used as female hair—it's Sensei Garmadon's hairpiece from this year's Ninjago sets, which itself is just a slightly redesigned version of the old Clone Wars Anakin hairpiece. Still, I can't complain—there are too few gray hairpieces suitable for both genders, and too few dark gray hairpieces whatsoever.

I spent the better part of this morning building part of this set on LDD (the truck with the mixer) and am very impressed. The mixer is a fantastic build (being based on a triangular axis rather than a square one helps), and the truck is quite impressive as well (the inclusion of a sleeper elevated it from just being a decent truck model at a scale large enough to carry the mixer to being perhaps one of the coziest big rigs we've had in a set). From the designer video, the other parts look great too—the inclusion of a dunk tank and strongman is brilliant, but the fact that they both work like they would in real life only makes them that much cooler.

I agree with some others that visually, it's less impressive visually than the Grand Carousel, but that's no surprise—a temporary ride such as this would typically look much more barebones than a permanent or semi-permanent carousel like the Grand Carousel in real life as well.

Eh, this set is missing something. I don't know, there just isn't any draw to it, personally.

Maybe if it included the Power Functions... :def_shrug:

In my humble opinion, this is a decent if not underwhelming product.

As far as the model itself goes I really don't have any issues - it looks fun, bright, happy and very compatible. The main draw is that it can be integrated into a variety of different scenes for both teenagers and adults, and the truck-system makes it compact.

But I feel this creates a the problem with the way in which it is categorised; it doesn't excel as an advanced build.

Sure, there may be more complex build techniques on offer and the expected round of patience, but I'm finding it hard to see where the £120 price bracket comes into play. To put this into context, the Pet Shop and Palace Cinema each have almost 400 more pieces for the same price, and they each contain more exclusive parts.

The P.R images reveal some nice elements, but the ways in which they are used look more akin to a standard Creator set. Also, the minifigure torsos seem a little too generic for the price.

Of course I hate to be in the negative camp - I just really feel that the company could have pushed this set more for the price. Jamie should take no criticism as, from a technical p.o.v, the model is everything that we've come to expect from his abilities.

After watching the video I can now understand why so many of you are so excited about this set. Indeed, it has lots of nice details and special functions which are quite sophisticated. Furthermore, the designer's happiness seems to spill over and affect many of you... but I am somehow immune to all that. My wallet has nothing against this type of immunity.

Yeah, the still pictures don't can't do justice to the ingenuity of that setup/breakdown. I was also surprised to see that the cars on the arms rotate continuously, as I couldn't see any shafts/gears in the pics extending out that far.

That said, I'm not 100% sold that this should be Creator / Creator Expert instead of City.

(Heck, they're not even talking about it down on the Creator section of the forum.)

I'm not thinking must-buy, but I'm definitely intrigued.

Fun, original creation, and lots of mini-figures. What is not to like about this set!? Jamie has been quite inventive and clever in his design too. I will be saving to buy it.

Breathtaking, I love it! What should we do without Jamie?! Great job! Fits right into my CITYlayout, what a great addition :)

My kids would love this set ... but I strongly suspect that they would destroy it while playing with it. (I think were are on the 4th rebuilding of the Friends house.)

Still, I LOVE that sick/queasy minifigure face. I assume that is new, because I've never seen it before.

Well that's pretty anticlimactic. It seems like a toned down version of the Grand Carousel we got a couple years ago. A definite pass to be sure, it'll give me more money for that Sandcrawler!

The Grand Carousel was a truly massive set piece model. This strikes me more as an amped up take on the Winter Village Carnival. It goes well with and ads some animation to any town city or train layout. And the kids will be constantly packing up the fair, driving it away, setting it up again. The play value is amazing. Price point etc it comes in around the same place as the Horizon Express. The engineering and design behind it is brilliant.

As far as why the Minifigs are mainly reused prints. It's a D2C set. The production run for it is in the 10's or 100's of thousands. Not the millions that retail sets get. They reuse parts where they can. Just look at the Winter Village sets to see the same.

Really nice set, but why would Lego release something that so closely resembles the Winter Village Market? It's the same set, just with a different setting. Strange.

Why? Because they (and I think most people) don't share your definitions of 'closely' and 'the same'.

Brilliant set; I look forward to seeing it in person.

It's not the same- the WVM was more of a market with and added on carousel to make it fun for kids- and to make the price higher. This is areal carnival, with a ride and attractions that could be added on to the WVM.

Generally speaking, any comment other than 'awesome' is not appropriate. Learn to go along. :-)
