Faefrost Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I forget about the glove world set! I know now that there is the WVM and glove world for this, now I need to make some stalls, a gift shop, a baby race car ride, a Ferris wheel(well, it depends if lego ever makes one- I'll stick to the glove world one for a little while.), and I know I want a drop ride and a small roller coaster- but those are my future plans, and this part of the park probably won't be completed 'till 2017. There is a very small Ferris wheel in Glove World. There is also an older larger one. 4957, although that is not minifig scale. Quote
Sarah Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Oh my LEGO... 2014 is going to be an expensive year. It fits in with the Winter Village set from 2013 and those plans I have with it. Talking about which. Will the 2013 Winter Village be available this Christmas or should I get it this summer while I can? Quote
Meatman Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 This is such an awesome set! Can't wait to pick this up. Quote
Vindicare Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 What a jaw dropper! Then I watched the video. What a brilliant set! Great ingenuity in having it all so compact on the trucks. That new face print & corner tile... Quote
rollermonkey Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 We've been using a 2x1 and 1x1 tile together so long, it almost seems weird that they'd decide to finally add that corner tile now. Quote
Dorayaki Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) There is a very small Ferris wheel in Glove World. There is also an older larger one. 4957, although that is not minifig scale. Judging from the timeline, Creator series didn't intend to design minifig-scale sets. It would have been cool to get a minifigure Ferris wheel in that set scale. Glove version is okay but it might look like a very secondary part from a large set. Now if this set is successful enough, a new Ferris Wheel for minifigures has a bigger chance to come in later years. Edited April 29, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
Yooha Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Wait, where do the juggler travel? Is there space for his long legs? Quote
jfbat Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 With legs that long, it's only a few steps to every destination! Quote
Stefano Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 NICE and now i regret it even more i dont have the grand carousel -,- is it bricklinkable ? or too expensive? Quote
kermit Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) NICE and now i regret it even more i dont have the grand carousel -,- is it bricklinkable ? or too expensive? It is expensive to bricklink but, you dont need it. All you need is the the carousel from the winter village market and just swap out the while plates for green ones for the base. It is more to scale with the fairground mixer ride than the grand carousel with is too big and would stick out like a sore thumb. Edited April 30, 2014 by kermit Quote
muscleman Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Can some one explain to me why this set isn't in scale with the others modular buildings and for the minifigures? thanks. Quote
rollermonkey Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Um, it's not a modular building, but it is in minifig scale? Quote
Csacsa234 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) With legs that long, it's only a few steps to every destination! You just made my morning with this comment. I was wondering about this too, but I think you can find place on the truck where it fits and doesn't stand out that much or put it in the ticket booth. Edited April 30, 2014 by Csacsa234 Quote

LegoSjaak Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Officially listed! http://shop.lego.com...und-Mixer-10244 http://shop.lego.com...und-Mixer-10244 To be honest...when you look at the large and first image of this set on the Lego-site (first link above) the whole set looks rather crappy... . someone who doesn't know what it is would not instantly be able to see what it is... But i like it that Lego makes sets that are not automatically favoured bij everyone! Quote
trippybrowneyes Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I am really excited about this set. The fact that the ride fits onto the truck is really appealing to me, as is the ability to motorize the ride. ...and the glow-in-the-dark pieces? The little kid in me is jumping up and down! It would be really neat if instead of having one carnival set, that it was released as a sub theme instead, and each set was a small part of the carnival. There is also an older larger one. 4957, although that is not minifig scale. Though the Creator ferris wheel isn't minifig scale, it can be easily modified by making the seats a little bigger and reimagining the ferris wheel as a smaller wheel. Quote
dvsntt Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I can't wait to get this set. I love the Ferris Wheel and Carousel that Lego made. 2 of my absolute favorite sets. I even submitted a Tilt-A-Whirl ride on Cuusoo, because it is my favorite ride and I really want to see a whole theme of the carnival. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Thank you very much for this information and the pics, Rick! The Fairground Mixer is simply stunning! Con: - ticket stand without roof - dunk tank looks a bit like a MOC - no real bell at the high striker but only a round golden plate - price (of course there are many pieces in this set, but to me it more looks like 100-120 Euros) - no new minifigure torso Pro: + accuracy of the fairground mixer + glow-in-the-dark-elements + 12 minifigures + bed inside the Mixer truck + a lot of accessory + all stands and the Fairground Mixer have place on two trucks (firstly this adds additional playability, secondly you need much less place to store the set) + functions of the high striker and the dunk tank I really hope that this set won't be a stand-alone set, but that there will be a Fairground set every year in the next years (like with the Winter sets)! Fritzy Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Everyone who's been admiring the Mixer will be interested to know about the new LEGO Store polybag for the month of June: it's a balloon cart that would pair perfectly with this set. It's very fitting, albeit the ceiling is a tad high on this one. I'd have expected a $50 minimum, but this is likely to encourage purchases of the new LEGO Movie sets. Anywho, if you were planning on picking up the Mixer when it arrives on May 15th, you may be better off waiting until next month — unless you're already planning on picking up some other sets, in which case it won't make a difference to you. I even submitted a Tilt-A-Whirl ride on Cuusoo, because it is my favorite ride and I really want to see a whole theme of the carnival. I hope your project attracts more supporters now with the Mixer in the picture. Quote
Lady K Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 This is so fantastic, can't wait for the release of this set (although my budget would rather I wait)! Quote
dvsntt Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I love the way it folds up and goes on the truck. Lego designers just blow me away sometimes. Quote
Faefrost Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Can some one explain to me why this set isn't in scale with the others modular buildings and for the minifigures? thanks. The Creator and Creator Expert lines are not locked in at a specific scale like "system" sets. Although there are normally some system scaled creator sets each release cycle such as the Modulars. The Mixer is minifig or system scale. However the truck is a bit wide to blend smoothly with vehicles from the City line, which are normally limited to 4,6 or 8 studs wide. The trucks width falls more in line with vehicles seen in other system themes such as Action where 10 or even 12 stud wide trucks are not uncommon. Quote
rollermonkey Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Um, unless you're counting the mirrors, the bigger truck is only 8 studs wide. Quote
